Weekend Backpacks Baltimore

Rosedale Federal Credit Union was a tremendous help this month as they packed 800 backpacks to be ready for the start of the school year! 📓🎒

Swirnow Systems Management kicked off our School Supply Project by sponsoring two of our partner schools. They packed the bags this week and will deliver them next week so the students are ready for the first day of school. Thank you, Swirnow! 📓🖍✏️

Summer may be winding down, but the 2024 Baltimore City Food Service Program will continue to provide free meals for kids 18 and under at all of their meal site locations through August 23rd. Spread the word!

Many thanks to the Lisa Vogel Agency for packing a week’s worth of bags for our summer partners. Small in numbers but large in accuracy - there wasn’t one leftover item - a sign that each bag received all the items. 🎉🎉

Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation and Weekend Backpacks are teaming up to
provide access to nutritious food and address food insecurity. The Foundation provided a $2,300 Feeding the Hungry grant to support local families experiencing hunger. Thank you for helping provide food and hope for families in our community.

The Maryland Food Bank has allowed us to support 600 more students this year. We are grateful for their support!

You can spot this Weekend Backpacks plaque in one of the restaurants in downtown Baltimore. Any guesses where? Hint: They have the best breakfast items, are a long-time supporter, and their parent company may have a relationship with 🍔.

We love our volunteers and treated them to Deddles Donuts, swag, and a fun morning. This year we packed 52,500 bags of food. We couldn't have done it without their help!

Need weekly meals this summer for your child? Look no further than the BCPS Summer Food Service Program. Stop by any of the 2 locations below during the posted times to grab meals in bulk - including 5 days' worth of breakfast and lunch! Open to everyone who has a child ages 2-18.

Students at Armistead Garden loved their extra activity packet on healthy heart eating. 🍎🥦❤️They used the heart puzzle to create an amazing portrait of their Community Coordinator! Thanks, for this partnership!

In honor of Mother's Day, we gave these gifts to the students so they could honor the special women in their lives.

BGE/Exelon recently helped get fruit cups ready for our bags, reset the tables for the next volunteers, and wrap Mother's Day gifts which we give to the children to help celebrate the special women in their lives. We always appreciate their continued support!
