But then he thought, why not work on some BMWs too? And that's when this 635CSi came into play. Gemballa's popularity grew in the 90s and beyond, and they even ventured into modifying other cars. They were doing great, you know, until 2010 when Uwe Gemballa mysteriously vanished on a business trip in South Africa. Some say he was meeting potential investors, but sadly, he ended up getting murdered. The rumor is that three men kidnapped him. It's a crazy story, but hey, Gemballa is still a legendary and awesome car!
