This was from our lesson today in the printing class. Our objective was to create our own stamps to print on our canvas using acrylic paint. We first drew a design with a pencil (creating an imprint) on small foam sheets. We then applied paint over the design using a paintbrush, pressed the foam (design/paint side down) onto our canvas. The next step was to put hand torn pieces of a paper doilie over the stamped areas on our canvas and then using our brush, paint over the doilie to create more designs after we removed the doilie. We were using opposite colors on the color wheel (complimentary colors). The results were like this....
This was my piece as I was demonstrating, I am embarrassed to say I forgot to take pictures of the kids work before they left.. Again 😬😬😬

Summer 2024 Art Camp is coming soon! Please keep checking for the schedule to be posted soon!
I haven't posted in a while, not because of the students lack of accomplishments but because a lot has been going on in my own life - the loss of my mother, an accident which was almost a fatal one for me, and surgery on my foot. Let's just say, Dec & Jan. were not very pleasant and it took me most of Feb. to recover 🙂.
Here's what the students have done over the past 4-6 weeks. Several of them have been absent a week or two due to several virus's running amuck the community here. So what would probably have taken 3 lessons or so to finish has taken a bit longer.
The assignment was to draw (preferably, flat pattern/shape) a page filled with cats, dogs or both. They were to have these shapes be different in size (sml, med & large), be overlapping (in front or behind), repetitive in shape, size & design/pattern and color. And to also use color as movement through their piece of work. The older students were also encouraged to create a focal point, a center of interest in their piece.
They are all GREAT and I'm so proud of them!
Here's a few completed pieces-
A few recent pieces from my students
This is Alyss's Red Cardinal in the snow! She did an awesome job!
