Your fate has been sealed and your destiny lies with us at The Silver Bullet, Monday, October 30th, well into the sprawling hours of ol’ Hallows Eve. Join the merrymakers for a creative and mystical night filled with potions, palpable treats, amusements, trinkets and fortune beyond a homunculus’s imagination.

Don’t make us drag you out of bed … because we will.

10/24/2023

This October 30, on the eve of Halloween, somewhere along the stroke of midnight, you are expected to be at The Silver Bullet along with our assorted cast of beautiful ghouls, Lisa, Taylor, Skylar, Todd and Chris for a costume contest of disturbing proportions. There will be judgements, amusements, astonishments and coveted rewards along with various vats to stimulate your voracity.

Come dressed for the occasion or be buried in shame … for perhaps you’ll be our next meal.

Muwhahahahhahahahaaaaa!

We know what’s up

If I can get some sun on the wall before tonight, maybe I can resume my regularly scheduled activities.

I love to gift art though you don’t get to pick and choose when and what, it’s just something I do when I have time. Lately I’ve been into doing what I call “Sh*tty Pet Portraits” for fun and old-fashioned air-dropping them into your life.

Is it sh*tty art? Is the pet sh*tty? Both? It’s a mystery, but they’re fast and fun.

I happen to know this little beast will take your finger off for a t-bone remnant, so take that with a strip of flesh.

She’s a big beautiful girl and the whole universe should probably know.

I often compare Chloe’s tail to a paintbrush amd is somehow her best smelling side. I have envisioned a lot of illustrations starring her, so maybe she’s going to have to start paying me royalty fees so I can keep her in fresh breath.

These illustrations are NOT her, as she’s not an irradiated stuffed rabbit strewn into the cosmos. This is a non-bound pair, with “Found” still in the finishing stages.

Nearing completion, it has been a cycle of fear, loathing and loving.

Recycled and found elements into art! And a statement. it is the year of the rabbit after all.

I recently had a dinner party for the Fourth of July holiday, and one of my favourite parts of the entire thing was the reaction of our guests to the art liberally splashed upon the walls here at the OAG. I loved seeing the awe and joy on peoples faces as they admired the very intentionally placed scenery, as every single display in the gallery -- for the right frame of mind, tells a story.

As we sat down to eat our grill charred fare with this painting at my back, a guest asked for the first time in my life,"Where does it all come from", and the simple answer is that I paint myself. I paint the way I feel and see, and at times, I feel like a doll in a dollhouse, who is sitting on the precipice of a great adventure with my imaginary friend nearby, both of us eagerly awaiting the next quest into the unknown.

Books defined my childhood experience.

When I was a child, The Velveteen Rabbit had a stunning impact on me. The subtext of abandonment and sacrifice were tough for a kid who changed schools as often as I did. Friends gained and lost, left behind but remembered. My favourite friends were my toys but even those disappeared after time.

Hippity Hoppity, some fun with thrifted objects that are now an entirely unique art piece.

Just bouncing through.

Something tells me I will wish that I had staged this photo instead of showing it on the drop cloth. This was a vintage Montgomery Ward dresser that had been left outside to rot. I restored the feet and am in the process of breathing new life into the finish with stain, paint and a little creativity.

I love to refinish furniture, and for a price, I can refinish or liven up any piece of furniture you desire. Whimsy is my specialty!

06/27/2022

Here at Grimm Studio, I offer a wide range of services and goods that you may not be aware of. To name a few;

1. Interior decoration and consultation, including personal shopping services that are guaranteed to create or find the perfect pièce de résistance for your space.

2. Restoration, be it ceramic, polymer canvas or wood. This includes original paintings and furniture. If you are looking for something more fun and funky, I also offer whimsical re-paintings and refinishes*.

3. Antiques! Glassware with a focus on 19th century and pre-MCM depression glass. I also regularly acquire vintage and antique clothing, fabrics and accessories -- think parasols, fans and handbags. If I don't have it, I can find it.

4. Original art on commission. Other than directly copying another artists work (I'd never), I can make you anything you want at any size or for any wall. I do murals! Inside/Outside, I don't mind! Price depends on materials needed, size, weather and other specs. I am fully insured.

5. Unique and one of a kind wearable textile art. Want some alternative fashion for an upcoming event you desire to stand out in? Want to rival Helena Bonham Carter in her peak? Honey, I got you. I specialize in Rococo, Gothic and Fairy-Tale.

6. Vectoring services for enamel art. I also offer full on production services. Come to me with your concept and I'll get the enamels in your hand in under two months.

7. Live Painting. I show up at your venue, supplies in hand and in full character. It's a theatrical experience that works with your environment and your musical selection. The finished painting remains mine to do with as I please, but we can discuss raffle options to benefit charity or other causes.

8. Bas-Relief sculpting. Walls or ceilings, I can free sculpt intensely beautiful and ornate wall art and ceiling medallions for your exquisite chandeliers.

9. All the other stuff. Paintings and Illustrations are available on a first come, first serve basis, and in order to hold a 50% non-refundable deposit must be placed with me. Commissions work on a similar scale. Paintings in my current skill level and price range from from $60-$100 for illustrations and $300-$2000 for canvas -- all dependent on size and subject depth.

If there is something that I haven't mentioned here that you think I can achieve (I'm versatile and an excellent problem-solver), I can do it. Get in touch through my in-box to schedule an in-person consultation.

*Table shown is about to become a giant Ouija board. Check back for the finished design!

My studio is in a very old house and I’m convinced the cast of previous owners listened to a lot of whispers from this interior decorating Satan.

It saddens me to report that festival events scheduled to take place in Spring and Summer of 2021 have been postponed to Fall 2021 and in some cases, 2022, due to continued Covid-19 concerns.

It’s hard, and I understand completely as there are so many of us out there that thrive spiritually, socially and financially at these events, but we can’t force the hands of investors who are concerned with potential liabilities.

In addition, I am continuing to keep the studio and gallery closed to the public out of similar concerns for my own health and that of my family. People seem to think “Covid is over” around my small town and unfortunately, I have observed a great deal of general disregard for the health and safety of others, therefore I can’t allow carelessness to affect the sanctuary of my “home”.

My annual Halloween event is as of this moment, still scheduled for October, and I am hoping that we will all be back to normal by then.

Bookings are a huge part of my revenue, with booth sales and live painting, but unfortunately, this thing called Covid has stopped all events making it impossible for me to take any bookings or in person consultations. I am hoping to resume on-site bookings sometime in 2021, but that wholly depends on the festival scene resuming.
I have some personal matters to handle in the next month or so, and with that complete, I will simply have to focus more on my home studio, online sales and the website. Until we can all be back together again, in harmony, this will have to do.
