Meet Rafa Munoz, our Executive Chef.

Rafael Munoz, known as “Rafa” has been a member of the Lulu team since 2010. Rafa is originally from San Juan De Los Lagos Jalisco, Rafa is married and he is a proud parent of two amazing young ladies.

Rafa began his culinary journey as a dishwasher at Le Vallauris Restaurant in Palm Springs. Within months he was promoted to Chef’s assistant. Rafa then went on to work at the famous French Restaurant, Le St. Germain, in Indian Wells for 15 years.

In 2010 Rafael decided to join our amazing family at Lulu California Bistro, where he was given the opportunity to be the Head Chef at Lulu Catering and Events.

Rafael took the opportunity and ran with it, “I remember our biggest event was 100 people and we thought that was a big event ” Now the Catering department orchestrates amazing events for 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗦 of people. Rafa takes pride in his work every day to ensure that anyone who comes to the Coachella Valley for a Celebration takes with them incredible memories. From those high-end Galas to smaller Birthday parties and celebrations, Rafa always gives 110%.

The Palm Springs Animal Shelter Faux Fur Ball is always one of our favorite events. We are honored to have catered this event the past 4 years! Our hand-crafted, floating "paint buckets" were a huge hit!
