Exo-Space has been selected to be one of ten startups as part of the U.S. Air Force Lab with MassChallenge program! The goal over the next five weeks will be to successfully transition into a SBIR Phase II project.

FeatherBox is a compact Data Processing Unit for artificial intelligence applications on-orbit. It's small size (0.5U) makes it compatible with most cubesat platforms. Rather than sending large sets of raw data down to ground stations, FeatherBox can process images directly from an onboard camera and only send down the relevant information. Processing data on orbit reduces downlink costs and improves response times to observable events. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/eqfXCsG.

Exo-Space is kicking off the year with a major milestone. We've delivered our FeatherEdge engineering model to our satellite integrator Orbital Transports, where they'll be performing preliminary tests. In the meantime we're preparing to build our flight model for our upcoming launch in October 2022.

Exo-Space was awarded a $50,000 U.S. Government contract to further develop our satellite edge computing technology (FeatherEdge) for commercial and government customers! This contract is part of the highly competitive Small Business Initiative Research (SBIR) program, which encourages domestic businesses to engage in federal research and development with the potential for large scale commercialization. Over the next 3 months, Exo-Space will be engaged in establishing the "technical merit, feasibility, and commercial potential" of FeatherEdge to determine eligibility for further federal support.
