In honor of Pride Month, we would like to highlight a legacy business that has had an enormous impact on Pasadena’s rich cultural history. The Boulevard Bar in East Pasadena has offered a safe meeting space for the San Gabriel Valley’s LGBTQIA+ community for decades. This year it was identified as a cultural resource during the initial outreach phase of the Historic Places Pasadena survey project. The Boulevard Bar is a tangible representation of Pride and we are so happy that Pasadena is their home! Happy Pride month to all! As another remarkable year comes to an end, we are filled with gratitude for all the support from those who made 2023 an unforgettable one. A few highlights from 2023: - In our first full year in the Blinn House, it was busy with groups, meetings, tours, and events. - After a five-year hiatus, the Colorado Street Bridge Party returned with over 4,500 attendees. - Our full year of scheduled events returned with high demand and sellouts. - We were voted favorite non-profit in the San Gabriel Valley and received a City of Pasadena Preservation Award. - We kept watch, spoke out, and consulted on numerous threats to historic buildings.
