My Daddy, My Hero.

I lost my Dad back in 2016 and not a day goes by that I don’t think of him or something reminds me of him.

My Dad wasn’t a perfect person, but my Dad was the perfect Dad for me. He was the definition of unconditional Love. And it amazes me that a man growing up that didn’t receive any love from his parents or siblings had the capability to give any love. It may have been imperfect at times, as I reflect on my Fathers life the way he moved in this world was a miracle.

He showed us his love in the best way that he could even though he was beaten, humiliated, and abused. And sometimes his short temper came out and on rare occasions sometimes I was scared of that temper.

But the memories that stand out are the ones my Dad created for us. The summer vacations we took, The Christmas decorations he put up on his favorite holiday, the Sunday’s he would take me to his job so that we could hang out afterwards, the laughter he brought to our family. My dad made sure to put me in football, soccer, and karate but he saw that I didn’t like any of that. So when he saw that musical theater and choir and the arts made me happy he made sure that him and my mom were present at all my shows. And he was super supportive in everything that I would do, but would be hard on me because he wanted me to be the best at what I did. Which I can appreciate that now.
