FAT FAIRY FARM
For years we have joked about the back yard. We would laugh and say"like a big farm but little"-
This is the newest trimmer set I got... it is super powerful on the suction so its a bit tricky. I love the 2.5 canister ... it didnt lost suction when full. I do suggest the pawhous for those with one or two long haired rabbits. It has really good guards and suction and is pretty safe to use alone.
It's almost baby bunny season!

YOUR NEW BUNNY CHECK LIST AND CARE GUIDE
Bunnies are not a throw away pocket pet. They may seem seasonal, but the spring is when most rabbits are the most comfortable having their babies. They are a wonderful first-time pet and when taken care of can live up to 7 years!
The rabbits here at Fat Fairy Farm are handled daily. They get play pen time and have had their nails trimmed and if need be a sanitary cut (long haired rabbits require every day grooming and sometimes hair cuts every 8 weeks!) Bunnies are easily cuddled and easy to be cared for. With any living thing, things happen, life happens. PERSONALITIES cannot be guaranteed. How you interact with your rabbit is how he will treat you back. Boy bunnies and girl bunnies behave the same when they are kept as pets so that part doesn't matter if you are just looking for a furry friend. No one can tell you how any two animals will get along so, if you have more than one rabbit, please make sure you have enough space to give them each their own space if they decide at some point to NOT get along.
2.26.2024 Due to health issues we will not be taking in any rescues and feel the need to let you know we will not be able to take back the babies taken these next two months. Treatment schedules for the humans come first and our rabbitry has downsized to our smallest herd. Thank you for understanding. Our last batch of babies leaving will be April 20 &21 2024.
Now on to the fun part!
Three important bunny things:
*Your bunny always needs availability to fresh water and food.
*Your bunny needs and deserves to be played with daily.
*Your bunny always needs a safe place to sleep and live.
If you are going to have to evacuate for a hurricane, will you be able to take your bunny? Do you have a plan for your pets. We cannot board or take in bunnies during storms as we will be getting ours ready.
Rabbits very in size and in maintenance. Long haired rabbits need daily grooming and hair cuts every 8 to 10 weeks. They need something to chew on to keep their teeth healthy. They always need access to fresh food and water so, if you are going on vacation make sure you have someone that can care for it while you are gone.
Now on to the fun part as you can personalize your bunny's home to fit in with your busy schedule!
Decide first if your bunny is going to be a house bunny or an outdoor bunny.
Our list:
*Bunny House/Hutch area/Enclosure
*Rabbit food pellets (a normal bunny eats 1/8 to 1/4 cup food daily)
*Timothy Hay (bunnies need an unlimited supply)
*Food & water bowls (heavy bowls—rabbits need an unlimited supply of fresh food and water AND they love to dig into their bowl or play rough with them).
*Litter boxes/litter/scoop if you are choosing to do so. I recommend doing this for your house bunny.
*GROOMING KIT with nail trimmers, bleed stop for nail trimming, brush with fine teeth, brush with close teeth, and soft rags to wipe eyes and ears.
*Toys (ours like bells, balls mirrors, and things they can find treats out of)
*Harness and leash. YES! Your bunny would like to spend close quality time with you and can be taught to use a leash and harness. (Small and xs dog harnesses at the dollar store can work too!)
*Carrier (to travel and vet visits)
HEADS UP FOR A HOUSE BUNNY!
Lose wires are a rabbit delicacy... DO NOT LET THEM GET AT THEM... WIRE COVERS (thread your lamp cords and computer cords in wire covers from Home Depot or get pool noodles from the dollar store, plug covers, baby gates.
House bunnies can be like puppies and will chew on anything you don't want them to unless you train them not to. Just like preparing for a new baby, keep your wires and items safe. (google wire hider or look on Chewy.com for protectors. )
We do suggest that you go to any of our local pet shops and let them know you have a new bunny and would like them to help you get it set up.

Just closed curtains after giving watermelon and cantaloupe. And the bottom dropped out.
It is so weird not having babies right now. In years past this would be the time frame that our last batch of babies for the season would be making their way to new homes and the frenzy of picture taking and ads and talking to all the new families. We are doing OK, will tell you about it later. For now all the bunnies are enjoying the break, getting spoiled and played with and gearing up for the fall season. I posted earlier about going over the breed book. We will have some awesome babies ready in Nov/Dec. For now we are just doing and getting ready for hurricane season and just loving on the babies we have. Even though they are breeders they are still treated like pets. Still get yard time and treats. Still get scratches between the ears and rocking chair time. Still grooming them and using the blow dryer sometimes. Hugs and thanks for following along.
