This is Harley Shuster! She is a sophomore psychology major from the Spring 2023 pledge class and is currently serving as our Vice President of Recruitment. Outside of Alpha Gam, Harley is involved in and Stem Scholar.

“During my time in Alpha Gamma Delta, I can confidently say that I have found my forever friends. The women of Alpha Gamma Delta are the people who push me to be the greatest self I can be every day. Moving to UWF from Jacksonville, I did not know any other students who were attending this University; therefore, I did not know the first steps to making friends in college. However, when I decided to rush Spring 2023, I never knew the amazing group of women I would find. I instantly felt appreciated, loved, and noticed, even as a new member, I never knew I would go from have 5 friends to 50 friends overnight. As the VP of Recruitment for 2024, I am so excited to have the opportunity to show other women on campus this tight knit sisterhood that I am so grateful to call home.”

“Joining Alpha Gam was a decision I made to meet more people on campus, since I commute and was coming back from spending a year abroad and wanted to really dive into the college experience. Meeting these girls and getting to know them and Alpha Gam as a whole has been a wonderful experience that has truly shaped my college experience and helped me grow in many ways, especially when it comes to branching out. I am so excited to be the VP of New Member Experience, as my time as a new member was an absolute blast and my New Member leader truly made the experience so much better. I hope to be able to do the same for the new girls entering our chapter and really help them get acquainted with Alpha Gam and the girls within it and make it a home for them

This is Aliyah Takai! She is a junior psychology major from the Fall 2023 pledge class and is currently serving as our Vice President of Philanthropy.

“Even though I haven’t been in Alpha Gam too long, the Theta Lambda Chapter has inspired me to be who I am and to be confident in all I do. It has inspired me to do more with my life and to go for what I want but also uplift and help others in the process of doing so. Alpha Gam has exposed me to more opportunities in the community that I couldn’t even imagine and as VP of Philanthropy I want to make a change and be more involved. I plan to spread the awareness of hunger insecurity in our community not just in the chapter but to our colleagues and everyone else around us. I believe there needs to be more done in the world and that there needs to be change. That all starts with us, it all starts with you. I see a bright future for the chapter as well as for our community.”

In honor of National PB&J Day on Monday, Feb. 12, we are working alongside Feeding the Gulf Coast to collect donations of peanut butter and jelly! Donations will be collected in the Argo Galley from 12:00-3:00!
