Offering a couple of mature does that have produced several fine kids for our herd. MCH Bowden Goat Ranch Ember. MSFG # 6849, BD: 3/11/2018 and Bells Goats Cleos Miss Annie. MSFG #7968, BD: 6/5/2018
We at Ahsum Acres survived a blistering July (31 consecutive days over 110) but we did a lot of planning for the future. My main man MCH 5MM Inigo Montoya sired a bunch of baby does this spring. And I was in hoarding mode; wanting to keep them all! But the heat has made me realize I have only so much stamina for keeping up on goat chores, so it is time to offer up some of “Monty’s” babies. Please DM for more information on these babies. MCH 5MM Inigo Montoya (height 21”)
September 1-2, 2022 we hosted the Cactus Classic Miniature Silky Fainting Goat Shows (6) in Cottonwood, AZ. This was our fourth year and inspite of the challenges of the Covid years, our show has grown each year. We had some new judges and some that we have had previously, as well as some new exhibitors.
Some of the classes were small but the competition was fierce. The show results and photos have been submitted to Renee Orr and Terri Randolph and have been posted.
After the final show we had a “wine, whine, wind” down just to socialize and recap. Elaine Krieg, DVM, who was also one of our judges, answered a variety of questions about health issues and raising goats in general.
Ahsum Acres had a fabulous time planning and hosting this event and is making plans for next year. We thank everyone for coming and supporting this show and hope to see you next year!
Ahsum Acres welcomed four Master Champions to the herd following the Cactus Classic: Ahsum Acres Warrior, 5MM Ingigo Montoya, Bells Goats Ridge and Ahsum Acres Halo. (Warrior and Monty are living with their harems, Ridge is breeding at Bell Goats in Ogden, UT and Halo went to Honeyville, UT with Dave and Sharon Hougaard)
Welcome to Ahsum Acres Miniature Silky Fainting Goats. After breeding and showing Pygmy Goats for over 30 years we became interested in Miniature Silky Fainting Goats. We now have a small herd and enjoy the variety in colors and patterns, and some of the similarities and differences in Silkies and Pygmies. As important as the goats themselves, the goat breeders and owners are wonderful, warm folks who enjoy sharing information about their experiences raising and showing these beguiling pets. Miniature Silky Fainting Goats can add flair to your farm!
