Dreaded Eden

Hello all, I wanted to announce that my son, Liam Raul McCarthy has finally come into the world as of the 29th at 8:45 am at a whopping 9 pounds and 21.5 inches and I will begin finishing up remaining orders ASAP and opening up shop again in the near future as I can now get my other health issues fixed (back injury, anemia and what not) since he is no longer at threat for said fixing. I appreciate everyone's patience and I can not wait to start making new and amazing wigs, hair and costumes.

ok, putting my neck out here to update you all so PLEASE do not bring up any issues or questions in the comments, they will be deleted, that simple. please IM the page if you need to talk or have concerns.

Now, to the updates:
Moving AGAIN! move number 5 and hopefully the last. moving to VA again and will be around people who can help process orders faster than being in a city where i know NO ONE.

INJURY: I took a terrible fall over the summer and have messed up my back. they think it is nerve damage, a herniated disk, or a fracture in my sacrum. i will have an EMG soon to find out what.

Therapy: im in a program to address and fix my anxiety (and i have to say its doing its job if im able to at least try to reach out to you all and let you know what is going on) i've become a shut in and scared of the world (so messages and negativity REALLY was beating me to a pulp of not being able to do anything) i didnt like being a scared pile of human so im getting help! (please dont punish me, im doing my best)

last but not least, THE FAMILY IS GROWING! with my boy friend already having a daughter, my hands were full but now we are expecting a baby of our own! so with the back being screwy and carrying around growing weight on top of packing for a move, i havent had the strength to do much else.

but theres a break in the packing and i want to get back to work and finish these orders! i have some things that i will be posting or re posting that are still for sale if you would like to buy anything and commissions are open but not a huge window (dreads and fur things mostly) but please if you see something you like already made, as! because it will ease the stress of moving by helping coving costs and AND be less that i have to pack.

Again, sorry for all this f**kery. i am just one person still.

I AM BACK (please do not bombard my messages PLEASE if you sent a message I'll get to it when I can) BUT I'M BACK BETTER AND NOT :AS: SICK haha. I'll be posting works I have been working on for customers soon as well as some premade things I've been working on in between! Please be patient and those who have sent words of "get better" and concern and been patient with me i thank you SO MUCH you are what gives me faith in what I do, patience is a virtue and life happens... sometimes life happens a lot... but I'm moving past that and I cant wait to make you all smile yet again!

At physical therapy last Friday, Eve continued her strength training. The therapist then told us that near 100% mobility has been restored to her arm. She returns to PT tomorrow

Today at PT, Eve started strength training to get back the usability of her right arm.

Eve returned to physical therapy today, her first time since the surgery. She was given activities to restore movement and flexibility to her shoulder. She is currently resting at home.

Eve returned to the doctor's office today, getting her stitches removed. She has been re-diagnosed with bursitis, which has a faster recovery time than what she was originally diagnosed with. She will be returning to physical therapy next week.

Eve just got out of surgery. It was a complete success. Here she is in the recovery room being greeted by her father.

Yesterday, Eve went to her second day of pre-op physical therapy. Here she is being treated by a TENS unit before being stretched out by the therapist. 1 week to go before the surgery.

This is an important message about the status of Dreaded Eden.

Some of you have spoken to me already. My name is Roger Shackelford from the subculture media organization, Tainted Reality. I was asked by Ladie Eve to come on to Dreaded Eden back in the fall of 2013 to help with customer support. Many of you have expressed concern with DE's recent lack of output on custom orders. This post is an attempt to be transparent with our customers so they can fully understand what is causing the delays behind the scenes.

Since I began my volunteer employment back in November, I reached out to as many customers as I could in an attempt to help Eve organize and fulfill her outstanding orders. Some of you got those orders in the time frame I originally quoted you. But some of you did not.

Compounded with several difficulties from the holiday season (private holiday schedule, financial setbacks, Lyme's disease flair-up), Eve once again fell behind. Among these difficulties, she began succumbing to extreme shoulder pain, which grew from discomfort that had developed while she worked on the Pandemonium Tour with DJ Sisen, Gothique Prince Ken, and The Candy Spooky Theater. Last month, she was finally examined by an orthopedic physician. After a few weeks of tests, she was diagnosed with a labral tear in her right shoulder. This is an injury that requires surgery and 4 months of rehabilitation.

Below are images of her MRI scan that shows the injury, as well as a note from her doctor advising her against all work for the 4 months following her surgery, scheduled for March 28th. Please note that Eve's real name is Kayleigh. Her last name has been redacted for privacy purposes.

During the months following the surgery as Eve recuperates, Dreaded Eden will unfortunately be forced to enter a hiatus. Eve will be dedicating this time to her recovery. During this time, we will be updating the Dreaded Eden page frequently with her recovery process as she enters physical therapy. She will be participating in pre-op physical therapy as well to avoid adhesive capsulitis.

By now, I should have contacted most of you who are still waiting on your orders. If I missed any of you, please feel free to PM the page here so we can discuss your order. If anyone else also has questions, concerns, or comments, once again, please feel free to PM the page.

Please understand that we here at Dreaded Eden are dedicated to fulfilling all orders placed with us, and to do our absolute best to achieve customer satisfaction. We are deeply saddened by how long some of you have been forced to wait for your orders, and once Eve fully recovers, you can be certain you will not be waiting much longer. Eve hopes to one day expand Dreaded Eden into a full fledged organization with a full staff that can handle orders in emergencies just as this. But until then, Eve is the sole proprietor of the brand, and is at the mercy of her body. However, once she is recovered, things will return to normal and Eve will once again be churning out orders at a normal rate.

Urgent Announcement: Eve, due to various health and life circumstances, has fallen behind on orders in the last month. As a result, we have decided it is best, for the time being, to close commissions for products so she can get caught up. New orders for wigs, horns, and large dread sets (over 20 dreads) will be discontinued for now until further notice.

She will be accepting orders for fur products such as paws, tails, shrugs, dragons, leg warmers, tutus, cyberlox falls, and small dread sets (under 20 dreads) as normal.

This does not affect existing orders.

Eve had to make an emergency trip to the ER tonight, and will be down for the next couple of days. Unfortunately, this may result in a delay on some orders. Please keep her in your thoughts as she tries to recover.
