NJ Preacher Sentenced to Prison for Multiple Scams
In June 2024, a Manhattan federal judge sentenced an NJ preacher to nine years in prison for multiple counts, including wire fraud, attempted extortion, and making false statements. The charges were related to multiple financial scams on several victims, with one parishioner losing $90,000 in retirement savings. The judge noted the defendant's lack of apparent remorse before handing down a particularly harsh sentence for white-collar crimes.
While the crimes in question took place in Brooklyn, it's important to remember that New Jersey law also treats white-collar crimes seriously. If you find yourself accused of fraud or other white-collar offenses, it's crucial to have an experienced criminal attorney by your side. The Lento Law Firm Team has a wealth of experience in criminal defense, including defending against complex fraud and white-collar offenses. You can reach out to the Lento Law Firm Criminal Defense Team, and we will be there to guide you through this challenging time.

Domestic Violence Leads to Death of Temple University Student
Domestic violence appears to have taken the life of a Temple University student after a late-night attack from her partner. Tymir Lackey has been charged with murder after EMTs and officers found Milan Jones dead from blunt force trauma at her residence. Jones was a third-year nursing student at Temple University, and the accused also attended the school. Temple University immediately suspended Lackey following his arrest, condemning domestic violence in their statement.
Domestic violence charges, especially when they have devastating results, place the accused's future at risk even before their trial date. If you have been charged with domestic violence, prosecutors will not go easy on you in court. Any existing relationships with educational institutions or workplaces may soon end as they suspend or terminate you due to charges.
Young people in America are growing up in an increasingly stressful and complicated world. The LLF Law Firm can defend you from criminal charges that threaten your future, regardless of how or why they occurred. Call our Criminal Defense Team today.
