Social Justice Series - Closing the Gap: A Conversation about Pay Equity
Women earn 83 cents for every dollar men earn.
AANHPI women earn 75 cents for every dollar white men earn.
Black women earn 64 cents for every dollar white men earn.
Latinas earn 54 cents for every dollar white men earn.
Native American women earn 51 cents for every dollar white men earn.
According to the Workplace for Gender Equity Agency (WKEA), the gender pay gap is a symbol of women's place in the workforce as compared to men.
Join us as we bring subject matter experts into the conversation to explore how the effect of the pay gap compounds across the life-span of women resulting in many retiring in poverty.
By participating in this critical discussion, attendees will be able to:
Learn how pay equity and the gender pay gap impacts marginalized populations
Discuss ways to get involved in solving this issue at a local and inter/national level.
