Girl Scout Troop 7686 crushed setting up the party for Roxborough Church’s Summer Friends (VBS)

On April 13th, ten college students walked around a neighborhood in Germantown and put door hangers on each house. These hangers asked if the homeowners needed work done on their homes and invited them to one of our partner churches. Daily, we receive phone calls, applications, and emails from people who need assistance. We've been out to visit 15 homeowners and have many more applications, all from just a few blocks in our community. Thank you Lebanon Valley College students!

In April, we hosted 16 different churches or schools, close to 200 people, and served at a dozen other sites!

One group we'd like to highlight is Delaware County Christian School. DCCS has partnered with us since 2012! They were among the first groups to serve with The Philadelphia Project in its early years. Pastor Ray Garcia and Michelle recently ran into a DC student who served with us seven years ago. Her week with TPP changed her trajectory and led her to become a teacher in Northeast Philadelphia. Her testimony included the impact of TPP on her life that week, which led her to desire to work full-time in our city. Stories like this remind us that God is always working, even when we can't see it. We are grateful for this partnership and how God has transformed youth as they learn to love and serve others because of their love for Christ. Having DCCS students with us this past month was impactful as they worked with homeowners, served in a community garden, gave out hot meals to those experiencing homelessness, and painted a community center in Germantown.

Thank you Delaware County Christian School for your commitment to our city and for equipping, empowering and training students to share the love of Jesus locally, regionally, and as far as they may go.
