Go Green Guidance
Go Green Guidance is a source for up to date information on Climate Change and Climate Change Action
Today is Earth Day and if you are like me, you are pretty discouraged by the lack of political will to tackle climate change. We mustn’t give up and there are many things you can do, the most important one being to vote for people who will support taking action and will stand up to the Exxon’s of the world.
Besides voting, here are several simple things to do:
Combine trips so you use less gas.
Coast to stop (unless you have an electric vehicle with regenerative brakes 😂)
Turn lights off and replace standard bulbs and fixtures with LED’s
Recycle PROPERLY! (No town recycling in my town anymore due to to much contamination)
Recycle electronics. (We take ours back to a big city and donate it to a place teaching how to salvage electronics)
We pay extra for an entrepreneurial company to pick up our glass. They turn it into new things.
We also pay to recycle our plastic. A local non-profit builds walls and sheds with it!
Hang your laundry to dry when the weather permits.
Put on a sweater instead of bumping up heat and put on a fan, rather than lowering ac.
Plant native trees.
Shop locally!
Reduce meat consumption.
Those are just a few ideas. There are lists and lists on the web.
Let’s leave our only home a better place for our children and grandchildren and
Celebrate today by getting outside and appreciating this beautiful planet.
