We all know the economy isn't so stellar these days.
When I first opened Provenance Skin a few years ago, I did it with the intention of providing services at an affordable price to my clients. My goal was to offer skincare services as not a luxury but a way to maintain skin health, yet still provide that luxury feel. I felt so fortunate to be able to survive the covid shutdowns. However, the lingering effects I have not been able to successfully escape. With the continually rising costs of products and overhead, I can no longer absorb those costs as an independent esthetician with an independent storefront while still maintaining the vision I have always had for providing skincare services at affordable costs. As a result, it is with a heavy heart and a few tears shed that I have made the very difficult decision to close my current location. I love the beauty and skincare industry, my job and mostly my clients. I once read that clients are more likely to be come friends than friends are to become clients. I can say there is truth to that statement. I love my clients and have become friends with you all. I always look forward to sharing stories and catching up. It has become more than caring for your skin, but caring about your life. You have become my friends and my family. So with that, I assure you this is NOT goodbye, but more of a "See you later!" I am not out of the business and am exploring a few options I am fortunate to have. The final decision and details should be worked out in about a month's time. from the site while I am in transition. New treatments being offered at Provenance Skin! As you know, I work part time for a doctor who specializes in peptide therapy.  In a nutshell, targeted peptides trigger your body to produce a specific therapeutic effect.  Ive personally seen patients respond to peptides with impressive results and I fully believe in these therapies.  
 
I am so excited to announce peptide therapy for skin care in my suite.  These peptides trigger the skin to create more collagen and elastin in the skin.  Translation: ANTI-AGING!! Along with the availability of the peptide line for at-home care, I will offer both peptide facials and a peptide peel.
 
The peel is perfect timing for our Arizona summer.  This is a summer-safe peel and works best for this time of year.  It is a heavy antioxidant to counteract the oxidizing effects of the sun.  We have all seen cars driving around Phoenix with the paint dulled and oxidized by the sun from not keeping it protected with wax (aka - sunscreen) or shade (aka - hats and umbrellas).  The sun does this to our skin as well. Sun damage creates hyperpigmentation, premature wrinkling, dullness and texture concerns.  Using antioxidants with your sunscreen not only keeps the sun from further damaging your skin, but helps to heal damage from past sun damage - like those days when we laid out in the sun with nothing but baby oil (yikes!)

The minute I got my products in, I did the peel on myself and fell instantly in love and could not stop touching my face afterwards. There is no "peeling" with this peel. But that does not mean it is not effective. Even with my deeper peels, I always caution of the possibility there won't be heavy peeling. Peeling does not equate efficacy and if you don't peel, consider yourself lucky for having shorter downtime.

Speaking of antioxidants, this is the time of year to be focusing on adding these to your routine. It has been long known that Vitamin C is the best. However, CBD has knocked Vitamin C from its throne. Full spectrum CBD with terpenes has considerably higher antioxidant properties than Vitamin C. While I will never discourage use of Vitamin C, I will suggest CBD as a better choice. Some people can have negative reactions to Vitamin C, especially those with sensitive/sensitized skin. Using an antioxidant supports your use of sunscreen to combat and stop the negative effects of the sun on the skin.

So if you haven't been in to see me in a while, my first suggestion will be a peptide facial and/or peptide peel. If you are one of my clients who regularly comes in, I'm going to suggest this treatment as well to maintain your skin health. I can't say enough good things about these products!
