Day 13 of February ‭‭Ephesians 5:28-33 CEV‬‬
[28] In the same way, a husband should love his wife as much as he loves himself. A husband who loves his wife shows he loves himself. [29] None of us hate our own bodies. We provide for them and take good care of them, just as Christ does for the church, [30] because we are each part of his body. [31] As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother to get married, and he becomes like one person with his wife.” [32] This is a great mystery, but I understand it to mean Christ and his church. [33] So each husband should love his wife as much as he loves himself, and each wife should respect her husband.
Dear God,
I pray that Daryl and I always share a sense of humor with each other. I pray that we laugh with each other regularly and that we make play a priority. Holy Spirit please help Daryl and I to be set free from the weight of anxiety, stress, strife, bitterness, frustration, and anything else that would keep us from wanting to laugh with each other. Of course there will be times where laughing and playing will be inappropriate, but I hope that my husband and I would know and respect those times to taken with seriousness. I lift up my desire to enjoy the company of my husband and I ask that You help me be a joyful wife in Jesus’ name AMEN!

Reporting back on The Marriage and Couples Retreat held on September 15th-16th @ The Westin Hotel, Princeton. Success!Success! The feedback from the 17 couples was phenomenal. Here are some of their comments. 1) awesome. Laughter is healing. Great Friday night activity. 2) learned about Bible scriptures and their meaning. 3) This was excellent. 4) The theme and presentations were excellent. Awesome panelist. 5) God can fix it. 6) definitely put us on the list for next year!! 7) God bless you for having this retreat.The retreat's overall rating was "Very Helpful ".

This Proverb is another reminder of how important it is to find an excellent wife. It is both a reminder to men to look for such a woman, and to treasure her as a jewel. It is also a reminder to women of their importance as wives, that they should endeavor to be such a wife as is described in this passage.
PRAYER
Lord, help us to see the importance of being a good partner to our spouse. Help us to treasure one another as a precious jewel. Thank You for reminding us of the importance of seeing each other in this light. Amen.

HUSBANDS
love your wives even as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it (her). Ephesians 5:25

This is not an easy commandment to live up to for any man. Any comparison to Jesus is one that challenges us to the core, but should always be our goal.

LOVE your wife as Jesus loved the church. She will certainly be a blessed woman and one who respects her husband!

PRAYER
Lord in Heaven, my Savior Jesus Christ, I am so blessed to be a member of your holy and righteous family. My only request in this prayer is that I can be the husband and Spiritual leader of my
family, and love my wife as you have loved me. Amen.

We are not compatible. Many of us have heard these words, said it to someone and or thinking it right now. Here's something to consider.
The problem is rarely a lack of compatibility--no two people are compatible. The real problem is not knowing how to solve conflicts God’s way, or not being willing to go God’s way. Any two people who live together in the closeness of marriage are going to have conflicts--even “spiritual Christians!” A good marriage isn’t one where two compatible people never have conflicts; a good marriage is one where two self-willed people have learned to submit to Christ and to work out their differences in Christian love. You will have a satisfying marriage to the degree that you learn to solve your conflicts God’s way. You don’t need to find a more compatible mate as much as you need to learn how to become a more compatible mate.👍

For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”[b] 17 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.[c] 1 Corinthians 6
O Lord, we know you have created men and women both in your image and for your glory. You have given them each their proper strengths and roles. Some you call to serve you as singles, and devote fuller time to your kingdom. Others you call to marriage, and this is a picture of your love for your Church. May we all be content with the calling you have called us with.
