Happy SIXTEENTH birthday to our old boy, Geno! We are so grateful to have this many years with this guy. Heās the dog that started it all with my interest in dog training and has been a die hard companion and protector of our niece from day one of her life! Heās taught me so much about dog behavior and has blown me away with how far he has come over the years!
What song do you have on repeat right now? Iām craving some new music in my life! Any genre! Iām trying to raise a music loving munchkin! Right now Iāve got āJohn Deere Greenā stuck in my head pretty bad.

We have a āno solicitingā sign in our yard now but we also have this Great Dane as a backup deterrent. š
Little do the salesmen know, sheās a big ole baby. But I guess a 100 pound dog staring you down through the door could be intimidating.

Bubb is taking steps and Iām not sure if Iām more excited or sad. My little baby is growing up! Soon he will be tearing through the house like Donnie from the Wild Thornberrys!
Finally found some clothes for Bubby that arenāt boring! š Mommaās favorite band is Seether! Bubb is one and wears 18 months! Time to start my toddler clothes shopping addiction!
Today is Zoeyās 4th birthday! š„³
I blinked and four whole years went by with our little house horse. She has truly come such a long way from a starving, terrified puppy from the side of a highway to the best big fur-sister to our baby boy! It never ceases to amaze me that out of all of our dogs, Zoey is the best with the baby. We truly lucked out with our big crazy girl!
Just realized I didnāt share any of my guyās first birthday photos! Since dad is a massive Pittsburgh Penguins fan, we had to do the Magnificent One as our theme! You may remember an older photo on here of Zoey rocking a jersey too! Who else is a hockey household?! #66
How Zoey will be today with this heat. This week has been brutal with the temperature. Weāve been in the 90s all week with high humidity. On Monday we had a terrible storm (we think a tornado) that took out our power for three days. We had to take the dogs to the training building to board them where they could be in the air conditioning. The house was dangerously hot. We uprooted with the baby and stayed with family. On day three, we finally got power and were able to get home and get situated. The dogs I think were the most thankful to be home! They pancaked onto their beds and just chilled. We lost tons of food but we are grateful we had someplace safe for us and for our dogs. We are never taking AC for granted again! š
On rainy days we snuggle up and chill! Reese is the dog that NEEDS to cuddle. He survived on cuddles. Zoey has accepted her fate that she just has to deal with it!

Today is 3 years since I lost my heart dog, Bella.
Happy Rescue Day to our little lady off the highway! We found miss Zozo when she was just 7 weeks old extremely underweight and terrified of just about everything except your other dogs!
To say sheās come a long way is an understatement! Swipe to see when we got her versus now.
Reaching a dog isnāt always easy. Sometimes they come with a lot of baggage that the average person canāt handle. So, if youāre a dog mom or dad who stuck by their rescue through all the ups and downs, my hat is off to you! Weāre a special breed!
I think I needed Zoey as much as she needed me though. š¤
Today our Bella would have been 11 years old. She doubled as both mine and my husbandās heart dog. Our once in a lifetime dog. I could write you a book on how incredible she was. She loved to train. Obedience, nosework, even a little bite work which was crazy because she was a Lab/Husky mix. She helped raise many puppies and watched over our niece daily. She was the most confident dog. Absolutely solid in all scenarios. We even āaccidentallyā passed the Therapy Dog International test and became a certified team. Most of all, she was the best companion. It was like we had a telepathic connection. She always knew when to offer comfort and always knew what we were going to expect of her before we even said commands. We lost her unexpectedly. It was the worst pain Iāve ever gone through. Next week will be 3 years without her. We miss you so much, Queenie. You and the baby would have been inseparable. š¤
Who wore it better? Zo or me? š
Iām not sure how quickly raw food kicks in for a dog and this may be TMI but over the last few days Zoey has been going the bathroom way better! Still no change in her coat but that will likely take some time. Sheās really loving the food though! She actually whines when she knows Iām making a bowl which she has never done. š

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who reached out over the last few days and checked in on us and sent good thoughts! My husband went to the hospital the other day and was admitted for diverticulitis and a small perforation. Fortunately, they felt it wasnāt serious enough to do surgery so they kept him for a few days to monitor him on medication and sent him home yesterday. Heās doing much better now and is on a fiber restricted diet until his follow up appointment. Weāre just glad to have him home! Bubby and the dogs have been competing hard for his attention today. š š¤
One of my non-negotiables as a mom is: when the weather is nice, we are outside! This is a rule for my dogs as well! š
Iām a millennial mom so I grew up outside until the street lights came on. I believe being out in the fresh air is extremely beneficial for health and also makes for a tired baby at night.
So, as long as itās not raining, snowing or coldā¦you can catch us out in the yard or on a walk/adventure somewhere! āš»
Whatās a non-negotiable for your dogs or kids?
Zoey tried her first meal with Viva Raw! Weāve always only ever fed sissy kibble so I think she was a little thrown off at first. But sure enough, she polished off the bowl and even went back to double check!
Iāve been wanting to get her onto some higher quality food because lately her š© has been not so great. Iām also noticing her coat isnāt doing great also. Sheās got a little bit of hair loss and itās starting to look a bit dull.
Weāre starting off with their monthly special protein and this month is goat!

Unboxing! Weāre trying Viva Raw! Hang out with us and watch a very Great Dane vibes unboxing video of Zoeyās new food! Iām super excited for her because lately her tummy has not been great. So, miss maāam is going raw!
I just donāt have the time to do home made meals for her with the baby running around like a feral beast so this is going to be so much more convenient!

Whatās my biggest tip for preparing your dog for a baby?
Teach your dog how to relax.
Especially if you have a large dog, your dog needs to learn how to be calm and just shut off. Start small. Teach them āplaceā and let them just stay there. The goal is to get them so relaxed that they just go to sleep.
From there, start adding distractions. Get a baby doll and start carrying it around. Use a video of a baby crying on your phone and carry that around too.
Teach your dog to relax in real scenarios they will likely experience. Put a tummy time mat on the floor and teach the dog that they canāt be on the mat and they have to lay calmly away from it.
Most of the time, a dog accidentally hurts baby because they get too excited or play too rough. Teaching them how to be neutral around baby is the best thing you can do!
Do you like the color version or the black and white version?
I couldnāt decide honestly so I posted them both! Itās funny how sometimes Zoey can look mysterious or really majestic when in reality sheās a massive derp. š
Does your dog put off a different persona in their pictures?
Sometimes you just have to let your dog soak up the morning!
The baby is ten months old now and keeping me very busy. Sometimes I have to stop and remind myself to let the pups just soak up the fresh air and sunshine and not just go potty and come in.
My one on one time with my dogs has understandably gotten shorter but I do try to fit in some time doing what they like every day. For Zo, she loves just sitting outside and taking everything in. Sheās a lot like me in that way.
My girl loves this spring weather! Once summer hits, you can expect her to find sun patches in our sunroom where sheāll pancake out on the floor and bake all morning. š
I hope you all have an amazing day! Remember to soak up some sun if you can! Itās my favorite āmedicineā!
Happy Valentineās Day from our pack to yours!š¤
This is an older picture I did with Reese but always a good one! I was honestly surprised he did a hold with the rose without getting too excited and wiggling the house down like he does!
I wanted to wait until today too to share with you all that we had our anatomy scan on Friday and our pups are gettingā¦A LITTLE BROTHER!š
Hey all! Just wanted to pop in a say no we didnāt fall of the face of the earth. Iāve had some unexpected changes recently and am working on this life shift. The short story is my corporate job laid me off and Iām now focusing on shifting my photography to full time. Iāve spent this past week really working on my website and what not. Iām always super transparent with you guys and donāt plan on stopping any time soon. So, send good vibes for my sanity! I promise we will be back soon!š
Excuse the super hairy dog bed but I wanted to talk about the place command. This is a must teach for every dog right up there with sit and stay. Itās great to keep your dog from running out of the house if youāre bringing in groceries or keeping your dog from jumping on company. But, weāve been using it a little differently lately.
Since Iām pregnant, we are obviously doing things a little differently with our three dogs to prepare them for baby. Although Zoey isnāt wild 24/7 she does have bursts where she gets rambunctious. Especially when we are up moving around and doing things. Sheās notorious for rough housing with our other dogs and treating the couch like a trampoline. Whichā¦thatās my fault for not setting expectations for her in the house from the start.
We obviously canāt have that when baby arrives so how is place helping? Itās not just about keeping her in one spot at this point. Itās about teaching her to be calm and shut her brain off. Letting her just relax even though thereās things going on around her. Normally, I put her on place while Iām doing something at the front door or with food and then I release her as soon as Iām done. Now, Iām keeping her on place and having her just fully relax, lay down, and fall asleep. After letting her sit like that for a while when Iām moving around the house and whatnot, I go over and physically release her from place. This is so she doesnāt get excited and bolt of place to just do zoomies.
So far so good. Sheās getting to that super relaxed state pretty quickly now. But this is why I tell people you HAVE to teach your dog place. Itās such a versatile command with so many different benefits!
Letās talk s@% #.
If you have a Dane, you probably know the dog mom struggle of a pup with a sensitive stomach. Any dog can have these issues but I do see it a lot with Danes. Lucky for me, my Lab Reese also has a sensitive stomach! š
Iāve been adding the to their food for about a month now and letās just say this stuff is the sh*tā¦pun intended. I like to take my time with products like these as itās not going to work over night. Iāve used a few probiotic products for Zoey and theyāve all mostly worked okay for her. Since using this, Iāve noticed sheās way more consistently having solid poops and sheās not straining to go to the bathroom. She also isnāt doing that āwalk and dropā which makes it more frustrating to clean up later. Having a single pile of solid poo to clean up has been amazing! If you know you know.
Bernieās Perfect P**p is natural, clean and made in the US. Itās not a powder so bowls arenāt messy after eating which is a plus! And Zoey seems to think it tastes pretty good! We will definitely be adding this to our household from now on! šš»
A bit of a different post here guys but this situation absolutely broke me.
A rescue that I support and adore recently took in two pregnant mother dogs that they had brought to Pennsylvania from Texas. Both girls were going to be euthanized. Both girls had their puppies the same day 3 days after they made it to their foster families. This girl on the shirt design is Juliet. Her foster mom raves about how sweet and loving she was. Juliet had 10 puppies total, two were stillborn. Just three days after her puppies were born, they realized Juliet was very weak and not eating. They rushed her to the vet worried she might have had a puppy stuck. It was much worse. Juliet had a mass that had moved all of her internal organs. Her liver was very large and in the wrong place. She was very sick and in a lot of pain. They made the very difficult and heartbreaking decision to put her to sleep. A few of her puppies did not survive. Her littler of 9 is now down to 6.
The plan was to bottle feed or find a mother dog who could feed them. Someone happened to come across a mother in Virginia who had lost her own puppies. Her owner left her and the puppies outside and the litter had frozen to death. A few volunteers made the drive in hopes that this mom would accept Julietās litter with bottle feeding as a backup plan. Once they finally got her home, she thankfully allowed the puppies to feed!
Although this was best case scenario, losing Juliet has been extremely hard for the rescue and for her foster mom emotionally. I am selling these shirts in Julietās memory to raise money to cover her vet bills and the future bills of her litter. 100% of the proceeds from these shirts will go to Saving Shepherds Rescue to support the pups. I decided to include Shakespeareās famous line āand Juliet is the sunā because Juliet was bright and beautiful and brought happiness to her rescuers.
Hold your babies tight tonight and love on them with all you have.
