Montgomery gate install timelapse
The Regional Rivers Repair Fleet (R3F) is finishing up repairs on the auxiliary chamber this afternoon. Watch a 40-ton lock gate get lifted into the air, do a 180-degree turn and then be placed into position on a support pintel. The lift took one hour to complete yesterday. The R3F will open the auxiliary chamber for operations later this evening. The main chamber will then shut down for repairs. Expect delays.

Recreational boaters can expect long wait times at Montgomery Lock and Dam
Mark Demattio, lockmaster at Montgomery Locks and Dam, explains that recreational boaters can expect long delays when locking through while the big chamber is shut down for scheduled repairs. The repairs were scheduled to start on the 6th. The delay until today was because of an unscheduled pulling of the small chamber upper end gates. We'll have a video later today showing the re-installation of one of those gates. #KnowTakeWear: KNOW the river. TAKE a safety course. WEAR your life jacket.
