Afterschool for TK & K at Yang Fan

In today's world, children are growing and developing faster than ever. TK & K programs in public schools enroll kids as young as 4 or 5 years old.

Rushing children to a school setting at such a young age can have serious downsides, as the physical and mental development of 4 & 5 year-olds is not typically mature enough to process complex information in the same way older children do. Kids and Owl Coloring Adventure

The kids were full of excitement as they colored the shapes in the owl with their bright and vibrant colors. They had a variety of shades at their disposal, from juicy oranges to deep blues and purples. Each color brought out different details in the owl's feathers, beak, and eyes. They carefully outlined each shape, making sure to get every corner and crevice perfectly, so that when it was finished, the owl would look magnificent!

Coloring activities are a great way for small children to develop both creativity and fine motor skills. Coloring encourages the use of problem-solving skills, which helps to stimulate the brain and promote higher levels of mental acuity. It also helps to improve hand-eye coordination, as well as concentration, since they need to focus intently on coloring within the lines. The energetic teacher led an engaging lesson and activities filled with rhythms that help kids explore the new words and build important language skills such as phonological awareness (the understanding of how syllables work together) and phonics (the ability to blend letter sounds). Dr. Seuss’ rhyming couplets introduce kids to poetry in a fun way and help them develop their storytelling skills by creating stories using rhythm and repetition. Kids especially love the imaginative adventure that takes place within the pages of Dr. Seuss' book as they join The Cat on his wild journey. As a result of this engaging play-&-learn experience, the kids left feeling energized and excited to continue learning!

At Yang Fan, we believe that it is good for kids to play outside in the fields. We provide a safe and fun environment for children to explore and be active with their friends. Kids today spend, on average, seven hours looking at screens every day. This includes devices such as phones, laptops, tablets, and television. Studies have shown that children are more likely to do things that make them sit still instead of being active outdoors. The inactivities even exacerbate during after school hours as kids have no friends of the same g*e to pay with at home.

Ginger Bread Day!

Yang Fan Preschoolers and Kindergarteners will have a great time on this special day. They will be able to do fun things that they enjoy.

We love to celebrate this special holiday with our kids by helping them make their very own gingerbread houses. Our experienced teachers help each child create a unique and special cake or pastry. They use all kinds of crafty materials like candy, sprinkles, and frosting. There is no limit to how creative you can be when celebrating Gingerbread Day at Yang Fan Academy!

Our little friends can also learn about the science behind baking gingerbread, from measuring ingredients to learning about the temperature and time needed for baking.

We also provide activities throughout the day to help children understand the meaning and history of Gingerbread Day.

𝗬𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗘!

Motor skills are divided into "fine motor skills" and "gross motor skills." Fine motor abilities are the tiny muscle groups in our hands that allow us to write and use a fork. Gross motor abilities allow us to use our vast muscles to walk and run while being balanced and coordinated, providing us with physical strength. These abilities must be developed in preschoolers from an early age.

Yang Fan students attend daily PE classes for a variety of difficulty courses. Kids leap over low barrier bars, go through hoops, and balance on the stepping river stones in this beloved PE course. There is nothing better for developing motor skills in young toddlers. Most importantly, it is risk-free and pleasurable!

Monster Mash Week for Halloween

More than a daycare, Yang Fan Academy is where childcare and early education converge, providing safe and play-&-learn opportunities for kids with high-engagement activities.

Monster Mash is a popular Halloween week theme. All week, Preschool kids worked on their own Halloween sea monster costumes. They made use of recycled paper bags and bright construction papers. The children learned sea animal sight words, the lyrics to Monster Mash, and sang the song to music. The week concluded with a Halloween party at which everyone dressed up as monsters.

With this mini adventure, the kids are having fun under the sun and in the fresh air while reconnecting with nature.

Nature is essential for a child's well-being because it feeds their imagination, stimulates their senses, and promotes happiness and productivity. Lightsabers that Glow in the Dark

Yang Fan Academy brings out the Inner Jedi in every child by having them make their own lightsabers. Isn't it exciting? We all want to make our lightsabers, and these kids are bringing that dream to life. These preschoolers made their lightsabers out of water bottles, glow sticks, and duct tape! But the best part is how it looks when the lights are turned off! Watch your little Jedi wield their handmade light sabers that glow in the dark.

Making your craft is an accomplishment in and of itself, but doing so while having fun is an experience that every child should have.
