This morning, Opus Music Academy was at the New Hope / Crystal Young Mudders! Today we got to run the slip and slide, soaping it up for 3 hours!

How do I help with students learning some life lessons?

Students can earn Music Dollars by diligently practicing their homework, with every 10 minutes of practice translating to 1 Music Dollar. For instance, if a student practices for 50 minutes in a week, they would earn 5 Music Dollars. However, imagine a scenario where a student, excited about earning a prize, forgets to bring their accumulated Music Dollars on the designated day. Despite their effort, they won't be able to cash in for their prize. As a result, they must wait another week to bring their Music Dollars and claim their well-deserved reward. So alas, this bag of Flaming Hot Cool Ranch Doritos has to sit with me at home, waiting for the student's triumphant return.

This past semester at Star Academy, our Songwriting Class saw incredible success as students dedicated themselves to creating original music, learning about song structure, melody, harmony, and lyric writing. Guided by Steve Perkins from Opus Music Academy , they collaborated, experimented with various genres, and found their unique musical voices. The semester culminated in a performance showcase where students presented their song to an enthusiastic audience of classmates, families, and friends. Their performance was met with overwhelming support and applause, affirming the hard work and creativity of our talented young songwriters.
