We hope you had a chance to visit this beauty on this year's Home's by Architect's Tour!

The team at Christopher Strom Architects really understood the assignment here. Named Cypress & Bluestone for the masterful use of these materials throughout, this project delivers bold statements while maintaining a direct connection to the natural world - both inside and out. The views, material choices, textures, and lighting all come together to create a relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle of Minnesota's largest urban center.

The massive Bluestone brick wall is a central feature and tone-setting element of the home. With exposed interior and exterior surfaces, the line between the indoor and outdoor begins to blur almost immediately. The consistent soft grey blues with subtle variations create a single mass with endless variation and visual interest. And ultimate kudos on the depth of the wall/entry! The light to dark to light creates a powerful sense transition as you cross the threshold and greet the warm and cozy interior.
