Aretas Assistance Dogs

Our Story

Aretas specializes in service dog training, primarily for children and young adults. We train dogs for a variety of childhood disabilities. Training through Aretas is accomplished using innovative positive reinforcement methods to produce a happy working dog. As Animal Behaviorist Jean Donaldson says, “Fear is very easy to condition and very difficult to get rid of.” For this reason, as well as our commitment to treat both our clients and our dogs with respect, compassion, and fairness, aversive and punitive methods are not a part of our training program. Choke, prong, and shock collars are never used on Aretas dogs. You can be assured that a dog trained through Aretas has been trained with loving, motivational, science-based techniques.
