Here is pictures of my work where I Replaced a supply duct plenum on a Vertical Air Handler. As you see in the pictures I took, when I applied the Supply Plenum to the top of the Vertical Air Handler, I made sure the Plenum was PUSHED DOWN TIGHT to the Vertical Air Handler. If it is not pushed tight then you will have air leaks which you definitely DO NOT want any air leaks especially in the plenum. Say the Air Handler was located in the attic, and you had an Air Leak in the plenum up in the attic...? Well I think we all know what happens. Air leaking into the attic space along with inadequate insulation allows for warmer temperatures to meet the cold roof deck and causes condensation. Condensation leads to rusty roof deck nails and can eventually cause MOLD GROWTH and WOOD ROOT. Anyway, the next pictures were me putting on there Duct Flex and yeah that was fun with all the room I had to work with. Now this was a project, these are the air handlers hanging I'm the attic aka pancake units, they all feed off of 1 big condenser unit outside. That condensers copper lines lead to what's called a branch box then off the 1 branch box different copper lines go to each air handler aka (pancake units) 🥞 ! Youll also see a dehumidifier in one of the pictures as well I hung in the attic. What a project!! And there's a whole another side to do of this 1 house 🏠😳😅🤣 🥞

These are called mini split units, they are also ductless. All the air comes out of the head unit which is inside. They are very convenient and really good efficiency. You can also install 1 outside condenser unit with multiple head units in the inside, when you have multiplehead units then the copper lines feed off of what is called a branch box. This had to be one of the worst looking ductwork I've ever changed out. Metal tefin was being used to carry the air flow.... Imagine what the efficiency rating was after I changed out the duct work.. Exceptionally WAY BETTER!
