Educators and Parents: We are fast approaching the end of another challenging school year. I applaud you for your fortitude, your focus and your convictions to see it through for the sake of the kids. If your kids have done well this academic year, congratulations! But if, in the month of April, you find that your young learner is struggling to finish strong, speak to your school's counselor and/or your child's teacher to establish a plan for the remainder of the school year and the summer. If you need additional support or a helping hand, send us an email at [email protected]. We're in this together!
What and when should parents sign?
When meeting with school personnel, never hesitate to ask clarifying questions before signing any documents or forms. For example, if your child is receiving ESE services, look over the entire IEP and understand what it means for your child both now, and in his or her future. When in doubt, don't sign. You should never feel pressured to sign, and you should never be told, "We need your signature right away or your child won't be able to xyz." Have questions? Send us an email: [email protected]
Our inaugural Back 2 School Strong event was a success! Thank you to Jackie Von Casminski and Emely Lockerman for such tireless work to pull together the volunteers, sponsors and supporters. Nikki Golub, your creativity is second to none! Stay tuned for what's next on the PAtHS Advocacy agenda.
