Chubby Chickens Farm Fresh Eggs

Life has been busy here on the farm, so it’s been a bit of a while since we posted.
Since our last post our daughter took several of our flock to the Kitsap County Fair.
Her favorite girl Mia, the black copper maran hen, won best in her class!
Addy won her showmanship class and then went on to overall showman and did a great job hanging in there with a very knowledgeable group of kids!
So much fun to spend a week with the future of local agriculture!

First batch of Chubby Chickens hatched successfully 22 healthy happy babies! Oh man are they cute! 🥰 Preorder now for the poultry swap, they will go fast!

1st batch of Chubby Chicken babies all tucked in for lockdown. We should expect the first ones by Sunday. These babies will be available at the Kitsap Poultry and Homesteading Swap, April 6th at TSC. Come see us to add your own Chubby Chickens to your flock. They will be very colorful egg layers, several shades of brown, pink and green. 😍

Grand Champion!! Our girls really do lay some special eggs.
Addy entered our eggs at the Cascade Spring Poultry Show and out of a pretty good sized class she won 1st place Brown Eggs and 1st place All Other Colors and Grand Champion over all!
So proud of our girls!

40 Chubby Chicken babies settled into incubator. Look at all the fun colors, can’t wait to see them all in 21 days! These babies will be offered for sale at the Tractor Supply Poultry Swap, April 6th. So if you want some chubby chickens of your own come see us there!

More of our silly girls! Tulip got to go to the 4H meeting tonight and continue working on being a Fit and Show Bird (showmanship) at fair this year. She really enjoyed the pre-costume contest part of practice!
And I just couldn’t resist snapping this picture of Val sitting pretty in the nesting box.

I think this breed is becoming one of my favorites, they are so docile and curious!

The girls are enjoying this warmer weather! Just love the rainbow of colors! We can’t wait for the marans to start laying and adding their dark chocolate eggs to the mix.

Lots of new babies added to the flock this week! Adding some more color with French Black Copper Marans, Americaunas, Blue Australorps, Speckled Sussex and an Erin Egger (green egg layer). We should have a rainbow assortment of eggs soon!
