Oregon Change Clinic
We believe that trauma is pervasive in the human experience.
We cannot escape its impact and if not addressed, trauma can and will permeate in the world around us – this can include our work, professional life, relationships and physical health,
The clinicians and staff at OCC see YOU first, not the diagnosis or disorder. Click the link in our bio if you or a friend needs help with mental or substance use.
Research has shown that language and labels can adversely affect quality of care by health care professionals, as well as treatment outcomes (Ashford et al., 2018).
Historically, those who have a substance use disorder (SUD) have been viewed more negatively than those with physical and psychiatric disabilities (Ashford et al., 2018). This stigma isolates individuals and may prevent them from seeking treatment (Botticelli, 2016).
Oregon Change Clinic (OCC) offers culturally specific services created by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Our treatment facilitation is driven by the current needs, history, and culture of BIPOC.
Everything you need to recover is already inside of you. If you think outpatient treatment is the right step towards beginning your journey, call us at 503-719-7985.

Oregon Change Clinic is a safe space to be seen fully—good, bad, and ugly—and still be acknowledged as worthy of love and kindness. Culturally specific services offer an intimate relationship where you can voice your fears, pains, doubts, and even triumphs knowing that the person sitting with you will treat your experience as important and valuable no matter how small or insignificant it may seem in the context of the larger society.
Patients recline comfortably in a chair for a series of 36 short treatments. (It's recommended that clients complete an entire course of treatment regardless of when they first see improvements.)
The most common side effect is a light headache that usually subsides after the 1st week of treatment. Patients can resume normal activities immediately after.

Psychotherapy and antidepressants are simply not working, or are not enough for many suffering from depression. The likelihood of achieving remission declines with each successive treatment.
Thank you, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek, and First Lady Aimee Wilson, for inviting Recovery Works and our community partners from Indigenenity and Latinx Behavioral Health Resource Networks for a discussion about results being delivered from the first round of Measure 110 funding. This feels historic.
The provider organizations represented in this picture have already brought significant resources online for people in Multnomah County experiencing addictions, and we are just beginning.
With support from Measure 110, Recovery Works has opened:
🙏 16 bed detox center in SE Portland capable of offering 1,200 detox treatments per year and representing a nearly 18% increase in Portland detox capacity
🙏 Oregon’s first Housed Outpatient Treatment Program for fentanyl users, in partnership with Bridges to Change
🙏 Integrated Outpatient Clinic in Newberg offering addictions treatment, medicine, case management, and peer services capable of serving 400+ humans in Yamhill County experiencing addictions
🙏 And we are on track to open another outpatient clinic in Clackamas County by first quarter 2024
All thanks to funding from Measure 110.
It took time to build the Measure 110 program. Oregon is now turning cannabis tax revenues into freely accessible treatment, housing, employment, and peer services to address our addictions crisis 💯
🌟 Well done, Oregon. The results are just beginning to pour in! 🌟

You're not alone! Oregon has one of the highest rates of depression in the U.S. with 35.3% of adults reporting symptoms of Major Depressive Disorder and General Anxiety Disorder versus 32.3% nationally. Nearly one-third of patients with Major Depressive Disorder also have Substance Use Disorder.
You don't have to try and battle this on your own.

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that typically occurs during the fall and winter months. It often starts and ends at about the same time each year.
Most people with SAD start experiencing symptoms in the fall, and this continues into the winter months. That is one of the main reasons many people seek drug recovery.
Another reason is that when the winter comes, and SAD symptoms become evident, some people may turn to drugs or alcohol to self-medicate. For example, they may use stimulants to counteract the fatigue they are feeling or alcohol to cope with the increased social isolation. Others may use illegal drugs or even prescription drugs to escape the negative emotions they’re experiencing.
