Arcudigm recently completed aerial and terrestrial mapping of an archaeological site dating back to the Paleoindian period (10,000 year old) in Wells, Maine - representing some of Maine's deep entrenched history. The project established a site datum (+/- 2 cm accuracy) used to create the topographical and graphical models that will be used by the University of Southern Maine to orient archaeological maps from excavations performed between 1995-2005 as well as public outreach and education.

From the archives: We had the opportunity to assist Maine Historic Preservation Commission by providing aerial mapping of the Farmington Falls archaeological site. This project proved challenging due to the low water level requirement. However, the wait was worth the reward as the data identified additional features that were not visible using traditional mapping techniques, due to the hazardous rushing water, which provided a greater understanding of the site.
A sneak-peak of an ongoing project for the City of Portland and Friends of Fort Gorges. The objective is to conduct aerial and terrestrial 3D mapping of Fort Gorges by documenting the fort’s structural condition which will be used to monitor annual and seasonal charge. This project will assist the city, state, and other shareholders in making informed decisions regarding future preservation/restoration projects (e.g., reinforcing and/or repairing collapsing cannon bays [gun casemates]) as well provide greater access to the public via virtual tours to this semi-remote piece of US and Maine history.
Arcudigm completed a multi-seasonal environmental mapping project of the University of Southern Maine's Smart Forest to assess tree health, delineate watershed boundaries, identify tree species, and more. This project was designed to help aid faculty and students monitor local ecological change in order to guide future policies and research.
