Taking classes and workshops are a wonderful way to pick up a new hobby, explore new ways to express yourself, learn what youโre capable ofโฆWeโd like to think in a small way, the workshops we offer might be in service of some of these goals.
We offer a variety of purposefully small workshops and cater to a variety of skill levels including novices. If this sounds interesting to you our first available workshop starts February 8 with ๐ฆ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด.

What a whirlwind of a year. This year for Hew has been extremely busy - which is great. Being super busy means some ups and downs and weโre always looking to learn from our mistakes and integrate these lessons into our practice going forward. Striving to be better craftspeople and better at running a small business.
Of course we couldnโt do any of this without you folks who support us. The designers, fellow makers, and of course all the wonderful folks who support us by buying what we make! Itโs always wonderful to hear the stories of a furniture piece or a bowl in someoneโs life that hold memories of time spent with loved ones. Itโs quite warming to think something we made might play some small part in your lives. So thank you.
Itโs also great to continue teaching in our shop - so many great folks come through each year. There are the folks who take many classes with us and have caught the bug and new folks who come in to dabble. Teaching and advocating for craft is a very rewarding part of my practice and itโs humbling to have so many of you want to pick up the craft as well. Be on the lookout for our Spring series coming out shortly.
We did several holiday sales this year. We donโt do many in person sales of our work - we make mostly furniture these days - so itโs especially exciting to see everyone during these and I greatly appreciate your support. We went to , , and just finished up yesterday. Thanks for supporting local makers and giving us a venue to share our work.
Of course the local maker community is a wildly supportive bunch. and are some good fellas and do an outsized share of work to support others. while a younger shop is doing a great service to fellow makers and offering some top notch goods with an eye to craft. My biggest supporter and the reason I can continue doing what I do is my wife . Without a doubt the best there is.
Photos: I donโt post myself on here much - most of you know me with a long beard so hereโs a clean shaved face for a change. Second picture is how Iโve looked for the better part of 12+ years.

๐๐ผ๐๐น๐: The exteriors are first turned, then carved - some are then milk painted, others left natural - then the interior is turned. I think the color helps had a little contrast and catch shadows excentuating the texture.
