As I reflect on life itself with all the hardships, joys, happiness and losses I look at my little family — my daughters Kissie and Faith; my grands Ty, Omari and Winter and I know that “THEY ARE MY REASONS!” I love the family that has been entrusted to me — the most rewarding job I have ever had was being a mother and grandma!

These trees are prehistoric 'Dragonsblood’ only found on the island of Socotra, Yemen

I met 2 gentlemen from Yemen who asked me with a surprising look on their faces what I was “doing with so many oyster mushrooms?”

I told them that I had researched their medicinal benefits and for that reason I cooked them in my Beyond Vegan Cell Food restaurant.

They shared how they knew so much about the powers of the oyster mushroom as well as
dragonblood trees but sadly the people do not know what to do with mushrooms so they just rot in the mountain region. Then they shared about the dragonblood trees and one took his phone out to share photos and a wealth of other information.

They spoke about how these trees have so many benefits but they are being destroyed in his war torn country 😞 He admonished me to look the tree up and learn more about them.

The little research I found thus far is astonishing on the powers of these trees. Even more surprising the only place the dragonblood trees are found is on the Socotra island mountains and high plateaux and nowhere else on Earth!

I left thinking how there is so much to learn and explore in nature! They shared that Socotra, Yemen island is known for having several unique natural features, such as desert areas, seas, and forests inhabited by multiple rare species that you cannot find anywhere else.

The universe is always speaking, are you listening? Do you hear? Nature provides everything we need 🙏🏽
