Swimming And Diving Set For 2024 Liberty League Championship - Vassar College Athletics Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams open the 2024 Liberty League Championships on Wednesday at Ithaca. The Vassar Women's team claimed the runner-up spot at the 2023 event, while thew Men's team is coming off a seventh-place showing a season ago.

Vassar Athletics rolls on with its celebration of Black History Month as we honor a groundbreaking athlete for both women and African Americans, Althea Gibson. Gibson was one of the first African American athletes to cross the color barrier in professional sports and won 11 tennis grand slam championships. Gibson also competed on the LPGA Tour, becoming the first woman ever to compete professionally in both golf and tennis.
