It's almost here! Our Annual Halloween Trunk or Treat!

We still have openings for Trunk or Treat Participants, prizes for the top three best decorated vehicles. If you want to decorate your vehicle and have some fun, give us a call to register at 485-3628.

No registration required to attend the event. The event is open to all Town of Poughkeepsie residents, free admission.

Free Admission, we will be accepting non-perishable food items for the local food pantry.

NEW HIRES:

On September 6, 2023, the Town of Poughkeepsie Town Boad approved the hiring of two Police Officers, Kevin Herrera and David Sager.

Police Officer Herrera and Police Officer Sager both have prior police experience and will begin their patrol field training immediately.

Additionally, the Town Board approved the donation and addition of our new Canine Officer, Kenna. K9 Kenna is a 15-month-old female German Shephard, born in the Netherlands. She will be partnered with Police Officer Vanja Mikelic. K9 Kenna has already begun her training in patrol, tracking, explosive detection and scent detection.

We wish all of our new officers a long, healthy and safe career!

Back to school this week ...

Shred event going on at the Towns Senior center until noon on Abes Way.

Please join us on Tuesday, August 1, 5:30pm - 8:30pm, at Greenvale Park for National Night Out!

This FREE event will have live music, Touch-A-Truck, bounce houses, obstacle course, face painting and more! Our officers will be there cooking up hotdogs and hamburgers for everyone.

National Night Out was created to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Thank you to Town of Poughkeepsie Recreation Department, Town of Poughkeepsie PBA, Arlington Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2393 and Target for their support leading up to this event!

We will be doing Child ID cards, TODAY, at the grand opening of the new McDonald's, 2577 South Road (Route 9).

We will be there from 12pm-3pm, stop by and say hello and get a free ID card for your child!
