Prescott Area Giving Machine

Yavapai County Citizens, thank you for your generosity! The Giving Prescott Area Giving Machines collected $83,471 for local and global charities last December (worldwide people donated 10.4 million through the Giving Machines). Last month, we presented $44,176 to 3 local Prescott-area non-profits. The Launch Pad Teen Center received $12,455, Prescott Area Shelter Services received $19,390.00, and Life Connections Pregnancy and Resource Center received $12,331.00. 100% of the money donated was transferred to non-profit groups. We want to thank Prescott City Council for their support and for representing the local people in giving the checks to the non-profits. We also thank President Brian Kimball and President Russ Dalton of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for sponsoring this project. Please look for us again this coming year at Christmas time.

Prescott Giving Machines are now open!

The Light the World Giving Machines were in the Prescott Christmas Parade. Thank you to Joseph Crockett, Taylor Burk, and Robert Burk for making this float so amazing. Come see us on the corner of Montezuma and Goodwin Street for the next 10 days.

Today is the day!! The Machines are here and the kickoff will commence at 4 p.m. We are very excited to see you all there! 😁

Since there are many festivities today, there will be a free shuttle starting at 12:00 p.m. from Prescott High School (1050 N. Ruth St) to the Parking Garage on Granite St. The shuttle will run until 8:00 p.m. The Parking Garage on Granite St will be open as well.

Prescott Area Shelter Services is grateful to be selected as one of the local charities to participate in the inaugural year of the Light the World Giving Machine. Located in the heart of Prescott, PASS is a 90 day emergency shelter for Women and Women with Children. Together, with our community’s support we help families transition from crisis to stability. Let’s Light the World by GIVING this Christmas.

A community is made not by one leader, or one governing body, but by a group of individuals coming together to create opportunities for all people to thrive, feel joy, and be cared for. Light the World is a perfect example of what it looks like to bring people together in the name of service, gratitude, and giving. The Launch Pad Teen Center is honored to be chosen as a recipient of The Giving Machine and even more honored to be a part of the collective effort to celebrate community and service in Prescott.

In developing countries throughout the world, mentoring can be the difference between failure and lasting success. Through mentoring, we ensure that mentees have access to tools such as business and vocational training and micro-loans that will help them reach their goals. More importantly, mentoring provides mentees with the guidance and life skills that they need in order to use these tools to achieve sustainable self-reliance.

Catholic Charities is blessed to be part of such a unique charitable giving experience. We are looking forward to helping families enjoy the experience of helping the most vulnerable in our community.
