We’ve had a handful of ranunculus blooms! I promise to be better at growing them next year because they are gorgeous 🫶🏻

Yesterday I finished putting my 3000ish dahlia tubers in the ground, minus my dahlia cuttings still
rooting inside!

Dahlias are our main focus here and should start blooming anywhere late July/August and last through October depending on our friend Mother Nature. We will also have lots of other flowers as well but dahlias are our main love.

Reminder—the stand is not open as we do not have anymore spring blooms currently. I have lots of ranunculus planted but they are a little fussy and it is my first year experimenting with them. I have some budding up and will certainly update if I get enough to bloom to sell.

I know last year we talked about maybe trying out some fun ideas such as small you-pick, but row spacing was an issue as well as being slightly overwhelmed by our unanticipated success!

We have adjusted our row spacing to make it easier to walk through, so I would like to work through some logistics to offer you some creative ideas this summer. If you follow our Instagram stories you’ve probably already seen some of my ideas!

The greenhouse will be decorated of course, but I would like to also offer seasonal set ups to rent to photographers! If you know any local photographers make sure you invite them to like our page. The greenhouse will be surrounded by thousands of dahlias and we usually end up with gorgeous sunrise/sunsets which would also make great photo ops. These sessions could also include a fee to pick a bucket of flowers during your session.

Other ideas I am considering for the greenhouse are small private gatherings for you-pick with your friends. I would like to collaborate with other local businesses to be able to add on things such as grazing boards or food from local restaurants. I will not be cooking 🤪

Options we also proposed last year were things like mommy and me bouquet making and various bouquet bars. Of course we’d love to do our sips and stems again but with dahlias! We can also return our dahlia subscriptions again. I would love to make more of these things a reality this year for YOU!

Working in healthcare for the last 16 years as both an RN in the ICU & Nurse Practitioner in primary care, I have met SO many amazing nurses. We spent many 12-16 hour days together including weekends and all the holidays (see attached photo of me as the unit Santa 😂🎅🏻). Together we shared many laughs, we shed tears, we watched miracles and we saw death. Even on the hardest days, anything was possible with a great group of nurses.

Don’t forget to thank a nurse because they will ALWAYS be the first to advocate for you, to treat you with dignity & respect, to hold your hand if you’re dying alone, and they will care for you through your brightest & darkest moments.

A little update on tulip season!

It has been fast and furious as always. I am nearly done harvesting all the tulips! I am so happy I could cry 😜. The stand is open this weekend (see previous post for detail) and I anticipate being done selling tulips by next weekend! So if you want your flower fix now is your time!

Reminder that teacher appreciation preorders are available until tomorrow! $10 each. If you have messaged me I will be getting back to you this afternoon/evening.

I am not taking preorders for Mothers Day at this point. I have to work through a few projects this weekend and then I will update once I have a better idea of my flower numbers! We WILL have flowers Mother’s Day weekend.
