Thank you to Joshua Meeks with Timber Real Estate who gifted the school a $500 grant for over 1,000 books read as a school community! He then offered an additional $500 if someone in the school community could sink the bean bag in a game of cornhole. Thank you to our amazing parent David for earning us the additional $500 grant for our school library. We are better together! Be sure to keep reading over the summer!

Our school community honored and prayed for the 23-24 sixth grade students as they passed the baton of leadership to the incoming class. The sixth grade students support our community in areas like chapel, Cougar Family Groups, and more. As moving grades can be a big change and transition, there was a time of community-wide prayer for both student groups. What a special time to honor these awesome kids! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ™Œ

Visiting Mrs. Sara Coxโ€™s third grade classroom is a treat! She welcomes each student into class, helping them prepare for a quality day. The students engaged in a morning meeting led by a student. To start the meeting, the leader chose a high five with first name greeting that went around the circle. Then they took turns sharing the highs and lows of their weekend including sports moments, funny and sad stories with their families, and more. Mrs. Cox provides opportunities to build strong leadership skills as well as learning how to share, with reminders of expectation for respect during the process. There was a fun tiny animal reward system brought into class after spring break that is visually seen on student desks. Solo reading completed the morning time and a choice to be on their belly, in a wobble seat, next to a friend, or at their desk was offered. Thank you, Mrs. Cox, for encouraging leadership in these young students! We appreciate your passion in your classroom at CCS.

KNOW, SO, and GO!!! That was the message relayed to the young students during chapel time, led by Mrs. Tina deVries. This important message was brought to mind by reading: Know you are chosen: Romans 10:14-15 SO we have a job to do. Go share the good news: Matthew 28:19-20. Chapel time also included our pledges to God and country, celebration of reading achievements by second and third graders, and strong, joyful worship. Grateful for our time together to praise God. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™

Principal for the day is a special auction item offered at the annual CCS IMPACT Auction. To help support Classrooms for Kids, Emerson's parents bid, won, and gifted this honor to her. Emerson was able to shadow Mrs. Carlee Peterson in her job duties starting with greeting kids at drop-off, being on stage for the pledges and a guest speakerโ€™s extra hands, patrolling recess, writing encouraging notes to teachers in classroom visits, having a special lunch and even a visit to the District Office to meet Dr. Friesen and the district CCS staff. It was a memorable day for all involved.

Thunderous applause was heard throughout the auditorium as each act concluded! What a night to share the good news of Jesus! โ€œBack to the Beginningโ€ is the story of a group of young campers learning about believers from various eras of society. Students in 3rd-5th grade told the story, as they performed on stage for their friends and family. Bravo! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™

A fabulous performance of God Squad was created by K-2nd graders!! There were giggles, applause, smiles, and looks of awe in the crowd as they took in all the fun. Thanks to those who supported the students and the arts at CCS!

We have an amazing group of admin assistants across our district; this campus is particularly grateful for Janice and Kelly! They work so hard on keeping everybody informed, cared for, and supported at our school! We are so grateful for them. If you want to give a shout-out, do so below or send a note to school showing your gratitude. We are truly better together! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ

What a great B-I-N-G-O night!!

We had the privilege of hosting Mrs. Petersonโ€™s husband, Mr. Peterson, who is a Bible teacher at the high school, along with fellow Bible teacher, Mr. Todhunter, who together, shared a lesson about Godโ€™s love in story form to our students. Weโ€™re so grateful to welcome amazing guests!!
