My cover submissions for the Spawnuary contest that Todd McFarlane was hosting over on instagram.

Question for those of you that have an interest in answering. As I was drawing today, and taking with some of the people I was drawing, I got to thinking that might be an interesting talk show. I draw my guests as I’m having a conversation with them. It’d be like the YouTube show “Hot Ones” but with me (or someone) drawing the interviewee.

Was really just kind of trying to practice drawing necks, and just kept drawing. What do you think?

A sketch I did. I know there are some anatomy issues, especially in the leg going backwards and his left forearm. Still learning. What do you think?

The Copic colors for the Deadpool blank variant cover. Some of the paper stock for some of these Marvel books do NOT respond well to Copics. This was, unfortunately, one of those covers. Let me know what you think.

Quick sketch of a character named Ripclaw from a comic book called Cyber Force… one of the original titles from Image Comics. Top Cow, the publisher of Cyber Force is holding their Talent Hunt, and this time they are focusing on Cyber Force since it is the 30th anniversary of the title. This is me warming up on some of the characters.

Hopefully going to paint this and not totally screw this up in the next couple of days. Will do a time lapse video of the progress.

The "local" talent for Big River Comic Convention 2021 is amazing. We are very excited to announce Mr. Jeffrey Niffen is RETURNING to the lineup!

Jeffrey Niffen is a professional illustrator with over 15 years experience in the cartooning and caricature arena.

He began doing caricatures in 2004 at Six Flags St. Louis under the training of Tom Richmond (Mad Magazine) and Ryan Roe (professional live caricature artist with over 20 years experience).

He then went on to do caricature work for various clients as well as fairs, festivals and mall kiosks.

Jeff also loves to draw comic books and comic book characters. He is currently scripting his first independent comic book, “The Book”, based on a television pilot he wrote, which he will also draw.

Christine Lagarde caricature done in markette marker and colored with Copics. I have no idea who she is, but it was the first prompt in the page. I don’t normally cartoonize my caricatures this much, but it was fun to stretch my caricature skills a little. I hope to stretch it even more with some of the future prompts.

Finished pencils for the Hellboy piece. I see all kinds of anatomy issues in it. Just happy I finished it. Got some commissions to work on, so this is going to have to suffice for a piece that was done for fun and practice.

Sketch of Logan (Wolverine) in a cowboy hat, tank top and jeans. Why a cowboy hat?? He’s Canadian for crying out loud!! Canadians aren’t known for “rustlin’ up some grub”! But I always thought he looked cool in a cowboy hat.

A true legend in the comic book industry. I loved seeing his interview on the dvd of Unbreakable. His work will be sorely missed.
