Focused on some self care yesterday. Long hot shower, chamomile face cleanser, charcoal mask, drops of your serum and vitamin E moisturizer. My skin still feels amazing this morning. Brighter, softer with a bit of a glow.
But I also curled up with a good book! Has anyone read the Kat Makris Greek Mafia series? If you haven't, CHECK IT OUT! Especially if you're a fan of the Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. (And if you haven't read the Stephanie Plum series, read that too!!)
I'll put a link in the comments to a synopsis of the book series. Let me know if you have read them or if you're going to. For those that use Kindle, the first book in the series is FREE!
Okay, so I haven't been around much and I must apologize for that. Many of you know that I had COVID in early February. Well... I'm still having some issues that require a multitude of doctor appointments, specialists and lots of tests. The fatigue is horrendous. And I can barely manage getting through a work day. So I apologize for my absence as of late.

My Why
As I tried to explain in my live, I turned 50 years old two months ago. And 50 hit me hard. It seemed like an instant midlife crisis. I felt lost and was struggling to find purpose in my life. I began to compare myself to others and felt that I was lacking. Like I was behind somehow.
I did my best to ignore my birthday, even deleting the date from social media so no one would know.
But about a week later something almost magical happened. At first my mantra became "I'm 50 years old and I don't give a $hit". It sounds a bit negative, but it wasn't, really. It was more, about not caring so much about what other people thought of me. It was about ME deciding that the physical stuff doesn't define me. The extra pounds, the double chin, the grey hair, the messy house, my scars and my tattos... Those things don't define me.
What DOES define me is my kindness, my love, my generosity and my spirit. I am loved. I am blessed and I am worthy. Just as I am.
That is why The Body Shop At Home's Self Love Uprising Campaign really hit home with me. EVERYONE is beautiful. It's about appreciating and accepting yourself as you are.
