When I last spoke with Save Our Shaw I stated the following “Shaw University- in my opinion was redlined to not serve district C, in order to have a cohesive council the recommendations from the planning commission indicated that there were inconsistencies with the rezoning. Furthermore, the future of Shaw University rests on mortar of enslaved and freed Black Americans, we’re in a state of Emergency for our Education.”-
Crawford for Raleigh Mayor. As we stand today during the last part of Black History Month I must ask the question: How can we safeguard our Black History when developers want to tear it down?
