Mox Nix Textiles
Hand pieced and hand quilted runners, pincushions and pins, sewing box assemblages and other textile art.
Great gobs of quilting finished on three pieces and the start of a Christmas colors runner. All for Greensboro Coliseum Thanksgiving weekend.
First 100 pins for the bird pincushions and two runners backed, batting and basted ready for quilting
Still quilting on the blue and cream square but here are some images of the Drab Ohio Stars. Reproduction fabrics in 3” squares.
Still quilting on the blue and cream square. Lots of little triangles. And the palette for the next runner - drab Ohio Stars.
Pushing colored water around with little sticks. And quilting
24” x 24” Lady of the Lake variation. Batting, backing and basted, ready to quilt. Unremittingly cheerful. The next one will not be and will have smaller pieces
Swatching Danial Smith watercolors - Lunar Red, Lunar. Lack and Buff Titanium on Canson XL Watercolor paper. Lovely granulation
The Lady of the Lake blocks have veered off into the wild. Very tedious making it all look random. A smallish square, I think.
Zentangles - small repeated motifs you can combine into more intricate patterns. 3” or so squares of watercolor paper and micron pens. No desire whatever to color them in but I do use them as watercolor swatch cards. Transplanting foxglove starts.
Maybe a better photo of all five blocks
Maybe a blue border and cream binding. 11” x 46”
The last of the red, white and blue blocks and four 4” Lady of the Lake blocks. Cue the damp bint dialogue.
Maybe a little Lady of the Lake block?
Four blocks done, I think one more will be enough for a runner
A red, white, blue and dirty gold runner for the Fourth. Probably five blocks long
Xmas Leaping Bunnies of Imperialism and painted wood snowflake ornaments
Red and gold bunnies and birds
June’s runners - I’m pleased with all four of them
Arms, legs, wings, body parts in general
Time to think Christmas. Fabric is mottled red with metallic gold . Very flashy Bunny and Bird onna String ornaments forthcoming.
A batch of cheerful bunnies and birds
Batting, backing and basted. With quilting in the pieced blocks, plain blocks and border, maybe a week to finish. With a quarter inch dark blue binding. 33” x 11 “ It’s a pretty little thing.
Sophie says - go to your room and make stuff

Little three inch pieced block in blues and warm beige
