Travel protection is not usually an extra cost most want to pay and most of the time you don’t use it. BUT you never know if you’ll need it and when you do, you will be SO thankful you added it to your trip.

Travel protection not only gives you some medical coverage when traveling but it helps protect you from problems such as a hurricane.

This week I have been moving several client trips to either a new destination or different dates due to Hurricane Beryl. Having the travel protection protected them from paying any cancellation fees or change fees. Some resorts charge fees when cancelling last minute and that is out of our control but this is when travel protection is needed.

New fee for entering Aruba:

We wish to inform you about an important announcement from the Aruba government regarding a new fee for visitors, effective July 1st, 2024.

Starting in July 2024, Aruba will implement a $20 Sustainability Fee for visitors arriving by air. This fee is designed to support various projects aimed at enhancing and improving sustainability efforts on the island. Exemptions from this fee include residents, children under 8, repeat visitors who have already paid the fee within the same calendar year, and Aruban students studying abroad who have been residents within the past eight years.

The Sustainability Fee will be collected through the online Embarkation & Disembarkation (ED) Card platform, beginning July 1st, 2024. Visitors will be required to pay the fee while completing the ED card to enter Aruba. Here is the link to the relevant platform: https://edcardaruba.aw/.

In collaboration with the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) and Utilities N.V., our Partner in Aruba is preparing a comprehensive FAQ, which will be available on aruba.com.
