We wanted to reach out to everyone and let you know we’ve been very busy, buts that’s not an excuse to neglect our page here, for that we apologize. We are here for your investigative needs as we are finishing up several cases this week.

With school starting soon it's a good idea to have a discussion with your children in reference to their safety. Yes we speak to our kids about talking to strangers or accepting gifts from strangers, however their safety and wellbeing is so much more than that. Iris Gardner who is the wife of Navy Seal Jason Gardner had a great interview with Jocko Willink a while back in reference to child predators and pedophiles. In this interview, Iris speaks of having tough talks with your kids and making sure that your kids know they can come to you with anything. Open lines of communication are necessary for your kids to feel like they can talk, even about things they are scared to speak of. Pedophiles prey on kids obviously, but not only that, they usually tell kids they can't talk to their parents because of disappointment or disgust, this is the primary reason for you to have open lines of communication. I recommend listening to the podcast with Iris and listen to your kids.

We here at Osprey are avid motorcycle riders and love to have the rally in our backyard. What we don't like is the escalation of accidents and bad drivers. We had a pretty close call with a driver cutting us off while we were heading to Sturgis yesterday. Then on the way back to Rapid, we observed a fatality accident on I-90. Please take your time and be mindful of not only the many motorcycles on the road, but be careful of the jerks and morons that drive don't care about the safety of others.

Well today kicks off the Sturgis Rally for 2022 and we are already getting calls to assist people. We hope everyone has a safe and happy rally and don't forget that life is all about choices, so make the right one.

We feel very fortunate to help them with their mission of providing service dogs to those in need. I have a small family. I specialize in bookkeeping and tax prep. I have over 10 years experience in this field and am striking out on my own at this point.

Yesterday we at Osprey went to support the Guns and Hoses blood drive. We did our part to help Vitalant and ask that you all try to get to the mall and help them too.

Well we made it through another election cycle and are excited that it's over with. Even though the election and political craziness has taken many by storm, we have remained busy making sure the needs of our clients are getting taken care of. We are looking forward to hearing from some new clients and see how we're able to help them with whatever issues they may have.

For our local clients in the Rapid City and Black Hills area, we are currently working on cases that have originated outside of our area, such as Pierre, Sioux Falls, and Ohio. We want to make sure we are keeping enough of our schedules open for our local clients that may need assistance.

With the end of school coming up many of you will be looking for child care for the summer months. Don't let anything surprise you with your babysitter, nanny, or daycare provider. We've been out of town a bit doing surveillance for some clients, which has been nice to see other areas of the state that we haven't spent much time in. Remember that we do not just focus on the Rapid City area, but we will travel to meet the needs of clients in other areas and fill the needs that they have. One thing we are trying to do here at Osprey is to post helpful things to assist you and your family, with bringing you peace of mind. If you are in Rapid City, please do not give money to the homeless population. If you don't know, the money you give them is going to either booze or narcotics, it isn't going to their kids, mortgage, car payment, or cell phone bill. If you want to give them something, give them food or clothing items that will benefit them in a positive way.

I was contacted on Wednesday of this week in reference to our background investigation abilities. During the conversation, the person asked if we have the ability to run one or two background checks at a time or do we only do large amounts. The answer to that is yes. We have the ability to scale our background packages to whatever fits your needs. We currently have clients that have large scale needs that run multiple backgrounds a week and clients that run one or two a month. Whatever your needs, just let us know.

In these uncertain times having good situational awareness is something that can be the difference between life and death. Most common citizens walk around in the "white" and are not ready for anything or anyone that might hurt them. Being in the "black" is also not a good place to be in, in my law enforcement career I witnessed far too many officers and deputies go into the "black" and lose their minds in critical incidents. Do yourself and your family a favor by being aware of your surroundings.

There is a lot of debate about whether you should warm your car up or not. If you decide to warm up your vehicle before heading out, make sure you either lock your doors or watch your car. Your vehicle is susceptible to be stolen if you leave it running and unsecured. Don't be one of those people who gets their vehicle stolen while letting it warm up.
