To wrap up our celebration of the 85th National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), we’d like to give a HUGE shout out to committee members, employers and industry leaders that support our state-wide California Registered Apprenticeship Forest Training (CRAFT) and regional Accounting Services Employment Training (A$ET) programs hosted at Shasta College. See comments for Savannah's pic!

Today, we’re highlighting one of our pre-apprentices, Savannah McMorrow, all smiles and showing us her loading skills at Shasta College’s Heavy Equipment Logging Operations (HELO) training site! She’ll receive her SC HELO certificate and, as a registered pre-apprentices, an additional industry recognized Certificate of Completion from the state. Pre-apprentices also receive priority placement in our state-wide California Registered Apprenticeship Forest Training (CRAFT) program! Savannah’s awesome and we’re excited to see where her path in the woods will take her next!

Savannah is also a registered pre-apprentice! Registering as a pre-apprentice takes no additional time nor cost. Instead, completers get priority placement in CRAFT and the perfect foundation of skills and knowledge to build their logging career as a registered apprentice. She’s awesome and we’re excited to see where her path in the woods will take her next!

A beautiful tour and great opportunity to highlight successful collaborations and our apprentice! She worked the LaTour training site as a Shasta College student and THAT experience is what made her want to be in logging! Now, as an apprentice, she’s working for a local logging company and absolutely loving it.

CRAFT creates a pipeline that provides apprentices with the industry-selected education and hands-on training needed to be successful in the logging and forest industry. Partnering with employers, apprentices in this non-traditional industry across California share in the benefits of this earn-and-learn program. Take control of your career pathway with no college debt, on-the-job training, a livable wage, an industry and state recognized certificate, and a career that is challenging, rewarding, and prosperous. This apprenticeship serves those re-entering the workforce, new to the industry, or even those already employed but needing to upskill! California Registered Apprenticeship Forest Training (CRAFT) is the only one of its kind in California. The program is designed and managed by industry, supported by education, & registered with California’s Division of Apprenticeship Standards and Department of Industrial Relations. This structured training and education program combines on-the-job (OJT) training and classroom-based related supplemental instruction (RSI) that benefits both employer and apprentice. The future is apprenticeship!
