If you've been thinking about getting support with your podcast, there are three things you need to consider before you add someone to your team.

1️⃣ You need to know what your current podcast goals are and be realistic about who can help you achieve them. For instance, if you need support with strategy, you want to hire someone who supports their clients with creating a strategy for their podcasts, like a podcast coach or manager.

2️⃣ What type of clients do they typically work with? This is really important as a mompreneur because you want to work with someone who is going to provide strategies or create a plan that takes into consideration that your time is limited as a busy mama.

You may be shocked that I didn't list podcast downloads as one of the metrics you should track when podcasting for your business.

Although you should track your downloads monthly, they aren't the main metrics to track when podcasting for your business.

Here's why:

➡️ Just because someone downloads your episodes doesn't mean they are actually listening

➡️ Downloads do not equate to leads or sales. Just because someone downloads your episode doesn't mean you will convert them to a paying client.

➡️ Because platforms like Apple offer the option to download episodes automatically, you can't assume that the number of downloads equals the number of listeners.

This is why you should track other podcast metrics that provide more information about your audience and how your podcast content is landing with them.

When I first launched my podcast, I did something that interfered with me generating leads from my podcast.

Let's talk about podcast call to actions.

When CTAs aren't used correctly, they can prevent you from generating leads from your podcast.

Here's how:

❌ When you don't use CTAs in your podcast, your audience won't know what to do after listening to your podcast episode, which means you won't generate leads from your podcast.

❌ When you inconsistently use CTAs, your audience won't learn to take action, and you risk not converting new listeners into paying clients.

❌ When your CTAs include complicated instructions, multiple steps to be taken, or a hard to remember URL, your audience will not take action.

❌ Waiting until the end of your podcast episode to give a CTA is doing yourself a disservice. We can't assume that every listener consumes every minute of our podcast episodes. While many do, some don't. So saving your CTA for the end of your podcast episode means that some of your listeners are never hearing it and don't know the next steps to work with you.

Creating clear CTAs that get your audience to take action is possible.
