Swedish dish towels!

Please don’t get me wrong…I am definitely not perfect. My family of 6 would use a Costco package of paper towels in a month. Now we buy one a year and use Swedish dish clothes, a hand towel and unpaper towels the majority of the time. Let’s make this the norm!

A Swedish dishcloth can absorb up to 20 times their weight in water, which is much more than paper towels. This allows you to scrub and wipe surfaces without having to constantly rewet the cloth.

Swedish dishcloths are made from a combination of natural wood pulp cellulose and cotton fibers, making them durable enough to be washed in the dishwasher or with your clothes up to 200 times.
Eco-friendly
Swedish dishcloths are reusable, compostable, and biodegradable, making them a more environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic sponges or microfiber cloths. They can also replace paper towels, which can help reduce waste and save money.

Swedish dishcloths are soft, small, and can be used for a variety of cleaning tasks, such as washing dishes, cleaning up spills, wiping down counters, cleaning bathrooms, and cleaning glass. They're also good for cleaning without streaking.

When mine start to not look so great, I just take them out of the kitchen and use them in other parts of the house!

Dryer balls vs. fabric softener sheets

I am totally team Dryer Balls!

First off…when I first used these I was doing it wrong! I was only using one or two at a time. It takes 4-6 depending on the size of your dryer.

What do they do you ask…
Dryer balls move uour clothes around creating air pockets that drastically reduce wrinkles and speed the drying time of your dryer up to 25%! Using less energy. The dryer balls stop static electricity and attract 🐕 hair as well.

How do you know when it’s time to replace them?
When they start to fall apart! Typically lasting over 1,000 loads.

Do they cost more than dryer sheets?
Heck no! A 240 load package of dryer sheets from Target is about $10 and it equates to $.04 a load. While dryer balls cost on average per load $.02. That is half the cost!

But dryer balls don’t smell like my softener…. This is totally true! No artificial fragrances with toxic ingredients that mask the smell of your clothes and go into our water supply.

Although if you really want a scent you can add a couple drops of your favorite essential oil to the balls.

I say almost because the wand and lid are still plastic, BUT you can reuse them!!! These bubbles by are awesome! They come in a metal container and we have refills!

Refill bubbles are just 52 cents an ounce. You can refill any bubble bottle, just bring it in clean and dry.

Did you know…. Plastic toothbrushes can take up to 500 years or more to decompose, and even then they don't fully disappear, just get smaller. This means that toothbrushes made in the 1930s are still likely to be buried somewhere today.

So why not try a bamboo one!

Next time you are ready to swap out your toothbrush go for bamboo! The Bristol’s are still nylon and need to be removed before composting the handle.

We had the most amazing morning….. thank you so much to and !!!!

We had an opportunity to talk to NBC today about the Work Force Development Program that we have utilized to build our amazing team! I would never have known about it without the help of ! Thank you Mayra and Evan! And the county support of Erik, Carmella, Jeanny from . It really does take a village!

We also teamed up with the university to make herbal lip balms using herbs grown at the by the sustainable Farm! We got the opportunity to share our store and knowledge with over 20 students! Thank you Erin!

When we decided to open our little sustainable living store never did we imagine that we would have a day like this! And we can only do it with the support of our amazing community. Thank you!

Here’s what you need to know for our Kids Clothing Swap:


• Tiny threads, big impact! Accepting kids clothing, sizes newborn to 14-16.


• Up to 12 items per child that you have and for each item you will receive a ticket to be used toward a “new to you” item!


• Clothing to be clean, un-torn, and unstained. Good clothes, just one’s they outgrew!


• Drop off is Sunday, 5/19 from 7:30am to 3:30 pm. Come back at 4:30pm to shop with your tickets!


• We will have everything organized by size and leftover clothing will be donated to a local charity.


The more children, the better! This is a no cost and no money traded event.


We can't wait to bring like minded-families together in our community! There will be a raffle as always!
