Work in progress 👨🎨
For the past two weeks I’ve been chipping away at this ambitious mural project in Swan Canyon. Waking up at dawn to get a good paint session in before the sun burns off the fog and creeps over the wall. Although it is hard work I enjoy every morning I have painting this mural with the waking sounds of life from the canyon. If you like to hike in the morning feel free to come say hi!

During my experience while visiting Art From Scrap I was greeted by happy crows everyday. We shared the front space with beautiful views of the Santa Ynez Mountains. This quickly inspired my design for the storage locker. The inspiration behind the colorful cacti comes from Otomi embroidery. Symbolizing the correlation of storing sewing materials in the famous cookie tin our Abuelitas kept.
The final piece for the project with & . It was a real pleasure working with you!

Throwback to Santa Barbra in January ✨
After struggling the past two years I finally manifested some consistency as an independent artist. At the beginning of this year I was chosen to be one of two artists to design and paint new signage for & thanks to a grant from . I made two signs in Spanish alongside the very talented who made two signs in English.
Our signs illustrate ‘s impact on the community, and reminds shoppers that they are not only getting great art materials, they are also helping to divert waste from landfills and supporting the work of environmental education nonprofit .
If you are passionate about sustainability like me, and if you are ever in Santa Barbra, I highly recommend giving them a visit!

Zapata’s sombrero upgraded to hold the souls of our beloved farm workers 🇲🇽
Sometimes mural restoration brings opportunity for new ideas. This idea came to me after studying Emiliano Zapata’s portrait for weeks. This revolutionary was often seen wearing his iconic sombrero. So I thought, let’s add La Raza in there.
