The Kings Mountain Art Fair has worked to reduce its environmental impact and has recently taken it to a new level by focusing on a goal of "Zero Waste," sending as little refuse to a landfill as possible. Each year has seen an increasing reduction in waste sent to the landfill. Zero Waste is a fair-wide effort. All food sold at the fair is served in compostable or recyclable products and the map to the Fair is printed on recycled paper. All fair volunteers are encouraged to work towards the goal. Come join us for our last day of the 2023 Kings Mountain Art Fair - the sun is out (for now), the art is great, and we'd love to have you. We are a 100% volunteer run operation and a percentage of the proceeds funds our volunteer fire department and other community organizations.

Every year, we honor the local art scene with the Mountain Artists section of the fair. Located between the firehouse and Kiddie Hollow, this special part of the fair showcases local talent, ranging from professional fine artists who live here to the hobby crafts person. It takes a mountain from our youngest volunteers to our oldest they all pitch in to make the fair run smoothly. Beverage volunteers help keep the liquids flowing during the fair from 9:30am Saturday morning until 5:30pm Monday night. We run two booths, three shifts per booth with a total of 66 shifts: this year that will mean 54 volunteers will spend 2.5-3 hours per shift helping to pour beer, wine, soda and juice. We have three information booths, one at the main entrance, one at the southern entrance and one in front of the firehouse. They are the best spot to grab a map, fill out a raffle ticket, and get any questions answered. They knew the best route to food, bathrooms, and artists. The face painting and cookie booth both directly help fund programs at KMES. Please show support for our wonderful Kings Mountain Elementary school by visiting the face painting booth for face painting and glitter tattoos during the Art Fair. It’s clear to anyone who’s been on the KMES campus: it is a special place. Located in a unique forest setting, with an effective teaching staff and interactive enrichment activities, KMES helps students to thrive and excel. As a result, the school has been justly awarded as a California Distinguished School, multiple times. All proceeds benefit the Kings Mountain Volunteer Fire Department. “We’re really fortunate to have great funding sources,” said Hank Stern, assistant chief. “Most departments are doing ongoing fundraising all throughout the year and a lot of the effort for the firefighters are not only on training and the responses but for the fundraising.
