Ever wonder what all goes in to your lash appointment and why it takes so long? Here I break it down into 3 steps. 👇🏽

✨Whether it be a full set or a fill, there are many steps required to prep, attach, and bond your lash extensions properly. Prepping your lashes can take anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes. Although I do expect each client to come to their appointments with clean lashes there are a few exceptions in which I will quickly cleanse and rinse first. One being that client just came from work. If a cleanse is required that adds another 5 to 10 minutes on to the prep time. I will first begin by taping down the bottom lashes, taping up the lids, removing all outgrown extensions, applying primer, and drying.

✨Next I will begin the tedious and most time consuming step of isolating the natural lash, picking up a single lash or fan, dipping the extension into glue, precisely attaching the extension to the natural lash, and holding for a few seconds. Each person has anywhere from 50 to 200 lashes per eye. I strive for 100% coverage (even if I don’t always achieve it) so X’s this step by the number of natural lashes you have and you can begin to understand why this is such a long and tedious task. This process can take anywhere from 1-2 hours per fill and 2-3 hours per full set.

✨ Finally we have reached the end of the appointment. After drying the lashes for two minutes, I will apply bonder and again will dry you for 2 more minutes. I will then remove all the tape and we are done! 🙌 …. Unless you are one of my sensitive clients who requires a cleanse after the appointment to remove any excess products from the lids that may irritate them. If so I will wash and dry you adding another 5 minutes or so.

Add on any bathroom breaks, watery eyes, and any other issues that may arise and we could be here forever. 😅

What can you do as a client to help shorten these times?

*follow proper after care which will lessen your fallout
*arrive to each appointment with clean lashes
*avoid caffeinated drinks which can make you antsy and cause your eyes to flutter
* turn your phone on silent to avoid interruptions
*get comfy and take a nap!

Going forward I will be including an aftercare kit with each full set. After care is such an essential part of not only your retention but also the health of your natural lashes. Remember, you should be washing daily! 🫧
