"I applied for Children's Congress because I wanted to have the chance to make a difference in Diabetes advocacy and meet other diabetics who care just as much about advocacy as I do. While in DC I got to meet so many incredible people and learn so many important skills. I became a more confident speaker and felt more comfortable sharing my story as a type 1 diabetic. Children's Congress was an amazing experience and I am so grateful that I got to learn everything I did!"

Applications for the The Young Adult Advocacy Council (YAAC) are open! Are you an adult with T1D between the ages of 18-28 who wants to get more involved in advocating for T1D legislation? The YAAC is a group of young adults who are business professionals, community leaders, and engaged students. These up-and-comers actively support the advancement of Breakthrough T1D’s advocacy priority areas, spread awareness of type 1 diabetes (T1D) within their communities, and inspire youth to use their voices and share their stories with key decision makers. Through their involvement, they drive meaningful progress on our path to cures for T1D.
