Littleroot Farm - Renton
Littleroot Farm is a smallholding in the hills of Renton, WA. Here, I cuddle chicks, grow plants, an
Beautiful Naga has been Littleroot’s livestock guardian dog since we began in 2018 ❤️ she used to live with the sheep and chickens full time, but she has become an indoor dog as she’s gotten older. She still loves spending time with her animals and watching over everyone! She’s saved the animals from eagles and coyotes countless times, and I am so thankful to have her as my partner in caring for so many animals!
I’ve welcomed eight Wheaten Ameraucana chicks to my farm 💙 I’m so excited to start learning about and breeding a new color of my favorite breed!
Yesterday, two ram lambs were born!
Lavender (self-blue) Ameraucana chicks 💙 Straight-run. Please pm me!
Happy National Egg Day! The hens all laid an egg today! It was the first time that have ever happened. They are doing such a great job laying near-daily. They are proof that ameraucanas can lay a lot of eggs too!
Beautiful Melly is an ameraucana who loves spending the days foraging for worms in the compost! She had a bit of a rough start; she was attacked by a rat at just 2 months old and took a lot of TLC to nurse back to health (including treating her wounds every day for 3 months). She was worth it and is a very loved member of the farm 💜 when you crack open a mint green egg, it is from Melly!
I just set 24 lavender (self-blue) ameraucana eggs 💜 they will be available in 23ish days
Meet Peppa 💜 she is one of my best friends and laying hens on Littleroot Farm. She is always the first to greet me each day, and she even knows her name! She loves to be held and helps me in the garden every morning.
She has a bit of a problem with balancing her calcium, so her eggs are always a bit wonky. Sometimes they are super thick and sometimes super thin 🙈 because of this, her eggs are never sold, so I eat Peppa eggs exclusively.
William and Wendolyn the shetland sheep! They are brother and sister and the best of friends. Wendolyn bred with my friend's sheep back in January and will have lambs next month! We are very excited to meet them.
